That IS awful! Like I said I just don’t hardly drive anywhere now. I have PTSD from it almost happening to me.
@realDonaldTrump
My great sister, Maryanne, passed away yesterday at the age of 86. A truly beautiful woman, tall and elegant, with a presence like no other, she was also a tremendous student, intellect, and Judge, in charge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, just below the U.S. Supreme Court. Her life was largely problem free, PERFECT, until I made it difficult for her when I decided to run for President. The Fake News, and others, went after her mercilessly, and because of the fact that she felt it inappropriate, due to her position, to defend herself, it just never stopped! While tough and strong, she was made to suffer in those years from 2016 until her Retirement. I will never forget the many times people would come up to me and say,“Your sister was the smartest person on the Court.” I was always honored by that, but understood exactly what they meant—They were right! She was a great Judge, and a great sister. She will be truly missed!

“Are the majority of these head-on collisions involving illegals?”
There is NO way of knowing because they WILL NOT say if someone is ILLEGAL.
Most of them say from DUI’s which could mean alcohol, or drugs. Since the state voted to legalize CANNIBUS in 2012 is WHEN I started hearing of MORE AND MORE.
Mine was from an elderly man with demensia coming up out of a park road along the Columbia River. Many, many years ago it was the main road between 2 of the cities before the freeway was built. He should have gone right instead he went left.
To me that was the MOST beautiful place I had ever seen. I ALWAYS wanted to go back too.
My husband and I made a bed in the back of our 1970 Ford station wagon and had MY mother and 3 kids sleep in an OLD army tent. We made like a tunnel from the tent to the car so if they needed to get in they could. My mother said she heard a bear sniffing around and prayed the kids wouldn’t wake up and scream. The next morning my husband was coming out from the restroom and a BEAR was right there.
We used to laugh about that all the time. Putting my mother in the tent. :-)
Lol yes, prices came up. $167 or so. Yikes!
Good news, RiV. Thanks for posting!
You’ve got some great memories to treasure, Spunky.
Sometimes it’s nice to live in the past....they seem like much happier times. Nicer people, nicer pace, more innocence, less of a rat race. I’ll bet people actually used to greet each other when passing on the streets. Now you’d be considered some kind of weirdo.
I wonder if we asked norsky nicely, if he’d find a picture of beautiful Banff, Alberta to post for his nightly lovely and peaceful pics. A collection of God’s masterpieces.
Norsky? How about a pic of Banff?
I checked out the Strub’s site. Those pickles sound really really good.
When I read the part that says:
Strub’s pickled products have been prepared in accordance with Kosher dietary laws and are certified Kosher under authority of the Jewish Community Council of Montreal, COR (Kashruth Council of Canada), Toronto...
I thought, hmmm, wonder if their pickles are similar to the old timey Jewish pickles they used to sell when I was a kid.
We would go into a delicatesson, and all the way in the back were these humongous wooden barrels, filled with Jewish pickles and brine.
Attached to the barrel was a long metal chain on the end of which was a pair of tongs, with which to fetch out the ones you wanted.
And next to the barrel were the long narrow bags, in which you would put the pickles.
Oh how we LOVED, just loved those pickles, to eat alongside our deli sandwich!
Thanks for the memories your post prompted, Judy!
I have to tell you a little story.
A few years ago, my daughter (she’s a magnificent cook and tries anything) made her own fermented dill pickles in a crock. She kept it in the kitchen in a dark corner (but I don’t think it was cool enough) and checked them regularly.
I was there when she opened them and there was a maggot floating on top of the brine. She said, “Oh, looks like they’re ready, and put them into jars.”
I didn’t really want one, but she insisted I try them to see if they turned out. Lol best dill pickle I ever ate. Even better than Strub’s. For some reason, she never bothered to make the fermented ones again....just makes regular dill pickles every year.
We used to have a store with those barrels as well. They also had a barrel full of sour cabbages, as we often made cabbage rolls with sour cabbage (fermented) rather than fresh. Yummy.
Thanks for the memories!!!
........
Amen to that, with God's help we can
We went to Calgary also. I remember seeing these TALLLLLL!!! Statues in a circle.

Then we drove further and saw this. Horrible, sad thing to have happened to a town.

So many cherished memories.
I won’t tell you the FULL details of when I tried to make something fermented. All I can say is it include potato peels and a few other things that I put in a jar. I hid it away and after a few weeks that jar EXPLODED! LOL
I take on empty stomach and don’t get nauseated. The instructions says take 1 or 2. They are #4 so have move codeine,
Did you see how they leaned San Francisco for Xi? Biden going to beg him to quit sending fetenyl. Trump didn’t beg.
Let’s go tar and feather the 8 that voted down impeachment of Mayorkas.
Lololo another cherished memory!
