Daughter #2, while she wants to learn to handle a handgun safely, said yesterday, "I do think it should be harder for people to buy guns." I didn't pound on 2A because that's not what works with her. Any suggestions on sources for her to get comfortable with "shall not be infringed"?
Maybe show her a map of where the violence & crime in the US is occurring vs where the more stringent gun laws are?
There is a powerful 2A argument to be made. The words there are clear. It might also be useful to compare “gun control” with “liquor control” (Prohibition in the 1920s).
Well-meaning folks in the 1920s saw the damage alcohol could do. So they passed a constitutional amendment to prohibit it. The end result was that law abiding people had no alcohol. Criminals could get all the alcohol they wanted.
This is historical evidence. It is not just some guess. And there is no reason to believe that stringent gun control would be any different.
You: “I once saw a movie in which only the police and military had guns.”
Her: “Really? What was it?”
You: “Schindler’s List”.
YOU TELL HER SHE HAS TO LIVE with her CONVICTIONS! NO GUNS FOR HER !
Just tell her that it’s already extremely difficult for law-abiding citizens to buy guns, but for a criminal it’s a breeze....................
“Take away her phone.
Then have a discussion about rights.”
Lol!
My favorite.
Remind her of the hundreds of millions who have been murdered by evil doers that took their life’s due to not being able to defend themselves, history proves that out and show her...black and white text.
Hi.
Tell your daughter to come to Florida.
Every strip mall has a gun store, liquor store, pawn shop and gentlemen’s club
You can give her my address and the First lady will explain how to disassemble and clean an M16.

Whenever someone else does something wrong, take something away from her “for her own good”.
😏
Yes sir!
Paging Mr. Bowman. Mr. Henry Bowman.
People who tend towards liberalism often cannot think of the possible consequences from their position. You just tell her that the only way to defend yourself against bad people is with a gun and leave. SHe won’t be receptive because she’s never been the victim of somebody who wants to harm her.
“You: “I once saw a movie in which only the police and military had guns.”
Her: “Really? What was it?”
You: “Schindler’s List”.”
The Jews in the Warsaw Uprising had weapons and they still got slaughtered.
To a liberal, there is so much gun violence that we should ban guns, but if you want a gun to defend yourself from all that violence then you are just being paranoid.
Show her the picture of the dead young woman in the back of the truck with those two Muslim animals.
What shaped her opinion? Public school? Media? Simply ask her her how new laws will stop people who don’t obey laws.
“You don’t think you should be able to defend yourself. I, as your father, have a different opinion.”
“I do think it should be harder for people to buy guns.”
Take her out of the Indoctrination Camp she is attending.
Find a School that agrees with your values.
It’s your child’s mind.
It’s your job.
