IT’S ON!
The “Monday Night Football” matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers was scheduled for an 8:15 p.m. ET start time. Still, neither team had any interest in waiting, brawling in a pregame fight that saw the two sides throw haymakers at each other at SoFi Stadium.
Things kicked off when Chargers defensive backs were running drills, eventually being interrupted by Cowboys players when they crossed into them. Then, Dallas defensive tackle Mazi Smith and Los Angeles safety Dean Marlowe started chirpin’ at each other, which escalated into an all-out brawl when tensions hit a boiling point.
Video shows Cowboys defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. appearing to throw a punch at Chargers running back Austin Ekeler, knocking off Ekeler’s helmet. And from there, all hell broke loose.

Here are some other clips of the pre-MNF battle:

I’m loving this aggression that we’re seeing in the NFL!
From Sunday’s games, I covered brawls that happened in the San Francisco 49ers-Cleveland Browns contest and the square off between the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills, and now here we are with one from Monday night between the Cowboys and Chargers.
Just beautiful, man. And we thought these boys were getting soft…
LONG LIVE FOOTBALL!
Ghetto.
Big whoop. Just some words and pushing each other around.
Dallas won 20-17. If I understood the announcer correctly, the last time the Cowboys played the Chargers in LA, they won by the same score, 20-17.
well..that usually happens when street gangs get together...they fight.
I went to a football game, and a hockey game broke out.
Throwing punches at someone wearing a football helmet is an exercise in futility.
“throw a punch at Chargers running back Austin Ekeler, knocking off Ekeler’s helmet”
Well THAT is kinda impressive all on its own, actually.
National Felons League.
There are several good reasons why I no longer support or follow that mob.
Thugs are gonna do thug things.
Tom Landry's Cowboys would never have done something like that...Just sayin'
You mean like Clint Longley cold-cocking Roger Staubach?
I do not want to say I have not followed football in years but when did the Chargers move to LA?
We should give them shields and short swords. To hell with football, if we are getting bread and circuses I want the real deal. Bring on the gladiatorial combat!!
2017 they moved BACK to LA from San Diego....................
Yeah I missed this game too. I only hear about spectator sports now here on FR. I missed the entire MLB season this year. Ditto the NHL and NBA last year. Absolutely zip of the NFL so far and probably zip the remainder. I did hear KC won the last super bowl so there is that I suppose. All the other sports are pretty much in the same bucket. It’s rather liberating not caring a whit about it all.
And then they spent the game throwing airballs. Geeze both teams suck.
Well, that wasn’t exactly an on field brawl. It was a grudge hit in the clubhouse, and Longley was out right after that.
You got that right.
Indeed. Those were the days; they are now long, long gone and a misty memory. Landry, in his hat and sport coat pacing the sideline...
