Suzanne Somers, best known for her roles on Three's Company and Step by Step, has died.
Somers died on Sunday morning, PEOPLE confirms. She was 76.
“Suzanne Somers passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 15th. She survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years,” Somers’ longtime publicist R. Couri Hay wrote in a statement shared on behalf of the actress’ family.
“Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family,” the statement continued. “Her family was gathered to celebrate her 77th birthday on October 16th. Instead, they will celebrate her extraordinary life, and want to thank her millions of fans and followers who loved her dearly.”

I can’t believe she’s gone. She had a beautiful peaches and cream complexion and with that natural beauty she became a fitness/ health enthusiast. She found her niche not only with the thigh master but so many best selling books detailing the benefits of vitamins, supplements and bio identical hormones.
She and Alan were interviewed at their home and they showed all the vitamins they took on a daily basis- the whole kitchen island was covered with small bottles of this and that. I believe Alan has been battling a progressive disorder also for decades. They were both believers in overcoming insurmountable odds.
There was another movie scene that reminded me of that single “glance”...
In one of my favorite movies “Master and Commander”, when the HMS Surprise is anchors off a Brazilian coast to resupply and all the traders and natives come out to trade, there is one scene where, a moment after he tells his First Lieutenant (I think) to hurry it up so they can get underway, he pauses and looks down into one of the canoes alongside his ship.
There is a beautiful woman, could be Portuguese or a native, but she is dressed in European garb, and is looking up shyly from under her parasol at him. As he looks down, their eyes meet.
It is longer than an instant, but...the dynamic is the same. In real life, that shy, beautiful face looking up at him would have been held in his thoughts for a long time, I suspect.

She was my wife’s distant cousin. Although they never met my kids are wondering when the lawyers are supposed to call with our part of her will.
My mom wouldn’t let me watch reruns of Threes Company because of all the “sexual innuendos.”

Ditto. I watched the show a bit when I was a kid. I had a great uncle who was WWII vet who loved that show. The man never missed an episode.

Not just you. The other day I was at work and a 30 year old co-worker looked at my ID badge & said I needed a new one. Said I had just gotten a new one about 5 years ago and I looked at it and my hair was still auburn. It’s mostly grey now but not snow white - yet.
Quite the hottie back in the day. RIP.
The past tense may have been my error...I just went in and discussed this perspective with my wife...neither of us is physically the person we once were, but in my memory...well...that moment in time won’t change until my mind erases it due to old age or death takes me...one of which is inevitable!
