I know if prayers are answered, many gulf coast residents will suffer.
But a hurricane will bring much needed relief to most of Texas which is under a State of Emergency due to severe drought conditions.
Too bad it won’t push the brutal High pressure center north or west.
Harlingen looks like it is right in the center of the prospective movement of the storm. Bill Haley should be OK, however.
A ping out to the Texas Ping list, founded by Windflier.
Since California is having all the rainy fun this year, about time for Texas to enjoy some of that blessing water cycle tropical storm rain.
After all, hurricanes are one of the main ways that northern Mexico, south and west Texas, and all the way up into the northern Plains states get their annual moisture replenishment.
Another special Texas summer edition for your perusal.
As always, please FReepmail me if you want on or off the Texas Ping list.
Blessings, and stay cool!
Nueces strip in Texas - the hurricanes push in tons of waters for a couple of days and when it ends it all goes running back out to the gulf.
Praying that it pushes it’s way up to DFW.
One week the windmills aren’t turning because the 110 degree days were calm. The next week high speed tropical storm winds shut them down.
Is that a great generating technology or what?
They need the rain.....................
meh... this isn’t even worth a pitcher of margaritas
Thank you, NN!
From this track, it looks like we Texans in the far northeastern PineyWoods can expect little TS relief from our protracted hot (94F, headed to 103F today) & dry (entire area under mandatory burn bans) conditions.
I’m still clearing up huge fallen trees (w/chainsaw & tractor) from our March tornado hit, so, daily, I’m out at first light (6am, 77F today) and back inside before the temps approach 95F. Even so, my clothes are so wet with sweat that I have to hang them in the shower until they’re dry enough to go into the laundry hamper. And, then, this near-86 year-old is “shot” for the rest of the day...
Thanks again for the “heads up”!

The NHC Atlantic/Gulf basin map is starting to look like a bowl of fruit loops.
I’m on vacation in Rockport and it’s pretty tame here. A little bit of rain and a little bit of wind.
