meh... this isn’t even worth a pitcher of margaritas
Thank you, NN!
From this track, it looks like we Texans in the far northeastern PineyWoods can expect little TS relief from our protracted hot (94F, headed to 103F today) & dry (entire area under mandatory burn bans) conditions.
I’m still clearing up huge fallen trees (w/chainsaw & tractor) from our March tornado hit, so, daily, I’m out at first light (6am, 77F today) and back inside before the temps approach 95F. Even so, my clothes are so wet with sweat that I have to hang them in the shower until they’re dry enough to go into the laundry hamper. And, then, this near-86 year-old is “shot” for the rest of the day...
Thanks again for the “heads up”!

“ The forecast models don’t look promising to produce Dallas effects.”
😢
Forecast for our area of San Antonio....0.5”.
No offense to those of you who live on the Gulf Coast, but I hope that sucker pushes some rain up to W. Texas. We need it. We’ve had less than 4 inches this YEAR!
And I hope no one is injured or loses a home from this storm.
Bless you! You have my respect for toiling in the summer heat. I planted two new citrus trees in the yard about three weeks ago. Back inside with the a/c by 10 AM these days.
Cleansing the Augean Stables.
Franklin heading towards the U.S. Northeastern States..??
Haven't seen an indication of that. Looks very much like a fish (no landfall) storm.
Correction: Frankin will make landfall in the Caribbean (likely Hispanola) before heading north.
Ain’t that the truth.... that damn dome has been camped on top of us entirely too long. Tired of this stifling heat and wonder whether one of my smallish dogs are gonna disappear down one of the many cracks that have opened up around these parts.
“Democrats LOVE old tech - trains and windmills.”
Don’t know about that. I love old tech such as carburetors, simple machines, and windmills with an almost militant adherence to the KISS principle. As a matter of fact, I’m sick of so-called engineers or any others that unnecessarily complicate rather simple processes then claim it’s more efficient or some such BS. Despise commies with a passion so that puts me totally out of the RAT ZONE and into old-school conservative ingenuity.

I’ll probably go ahead & water the yard anyway.
American Plant Food Corporation plant fire contained as crews work to clear smolder in Barlett
The American Plant Food Corporation fertilizer plant fire has been contained, and the air quality is deemed good as Hazmat crews continue work to clean up the site of the fire, and firefighters work to clear the smolder, authorities said.
Fire Chief Steven Wentrcek said that when crews arrived at the scene, the building was fully engulfed and help was sought from departments in surrounding areas.
Firefighters worked to contain a six acre grass fire that was the result of the fire at the plant. Back at the site of the plant, crews decided to let the fire burn out overnight once it was contained
Water was not used to extinguish the blaze because of hazardous chemicals from the plant, and to protect the environment surrounding the plant, the fire chief said.
American Plant Food Corporation Fertilizer Plant
The American Plant Food Corporation has 11 different locations across Texas, including the Bartlett plant that opened in the early 1990s.
Mayor Mees stated in the press conference, the plant was a fertilizer for all the area farmers in Central Texas and was vital to the local community.
“TS Warning for Portions of TX”
I wish. Anything north of Austin is to remain bone dry and blast furnace hot.
It looks like the valley will get the rain. Us in East Texas are still hot and dry. Big time fire threat. I am moving my burn pile farther away from my house for that reason tomorrow morning. And agreed, I start work out side when the sun comes up and knock off around 12. I have always worked outside in the heat, but this summer seems a lot more oppresive than others. I go through three shirts a day now.
