My wife is Japanese and will only eat Japanese or US rice - the rice from India tends to be long-grain rice which is thinner and longer then the Japanese variants.
I’m fine with all of it, but I haven’t seen the “panic” buying at the places we go ... as of yet.

Barack and Michelle Obama Change Story: They Were on Martha’s Vineyard When Chef Mysteriously Drowned

Initial reports said Barack and Michelle Obama were not on their property on Martha’s Vineyard at the same their personal chef drowned under mysterious circumstances.
Now, it turns out the former president and former first lady Obama were indeed on Martha’s Vineyard at the same time their personal chef drowned.
Obama’s office previously claimed that Barack and Michelle were not at the property when the chef drowned, but the story has been quickly altered.
On Monday, reports began circulating that a 45-year-old paddle boarder was found in a pond on Obama’s Martha’s Vineyard mansion.
The man was identified as Obama’s personal chef Tafari Campbell, who is from Dumfries, Virginia.
A 911 call came from Obama’s residence late Sunday night, but it is unknown who dialed the police.
Police then began searching for a missing black male paddle boarder.
Conservative Twitter account said another person was present and watched the man go under.
“A 42-year old black man was found dead in a pond (8ft) near Obama’s estate last night.
The call to 9-11 last night came from the ex-President’s property.
According to police, another person was in the pond with the man and watched him go underwater.
According to the Daily Mail, Barack and Michelle were staying on the property when Campbell died.
But the Obamas had trouble getting their facts straight.
Initially, the Obamas’ office said they were not at home, which was late4 clarified by their office that they were on the island, just not at the residence when the chef drowned.
According to a report from the Gateway Pundit, Campbell had taken swimming lessons as recently as 2019, which contradicted assumptions he may have drowned due to being unable to swim.
Tafari’s wife, Sherise released the following statement Tuesday via Instagram:
“My heart is broken. My life and our family’s life is forever changed. Please pray for me and our families as I deal with the loss of my husband.
Tafari Campbell is survived by Sherise and their 19-year-old twin sons.”
No one goes paddle boarding after sundown. No one wants to be in the black water away from shore. I know a whole lot about just about anything to do with water safety, and I never ever go in the black water. I’ve done one night dive and it was strangely peaceful, but still scary out past where the inky darnkess snuffed out the light.

Agreed. I was not asking you to move the content you posted in #1361 to Festival. You were invited to respond to the Trump/AntiChrist topic and I posted to both of you my request that topic move to Festival.
Sidenote: Sometimes a religious topic is so interesting that the discussion becomes extended and in the past, I've made requests for extended and/or contentious religious topics to move to Festival.
It's not ridiculous when you think about it. The bottom line is they miss it. They get out there beyond the trees and find out that everyone is basically 2 days behind us and severely lacking in analysis. Everyone on FR KNOWS this thread is where news breaks and where the best and most intelligent analysis happens. They come back because it feels like home.

Downtown Chattanooga is all about apartments. Not just apartments, but overly expensive apartments with woefully inadequate parking. Away from downtown, it’s kind of a mix of apartments and houses on postage-stamp lots. Like the old style building of the 50s. Out where I’m at, and a few miles farther out, McMansions are the rule, though our former mayor of out city was pushing “low income housing” as some sort of positive thing.
Having been around the housing projects in Cleveland, Ohio, and driven by them in Chattanooga, low income housing is NOT a positive thing. Drug-infested gangland murderous entities with NO responsibility for anything as it’s all given to them. That’s the model of government housing.
Anyway, I digress - certainly sliding off topic here.
