Things to see/do -to avoid??
Ringling Museum is a must see. One more thing…bring money, lots.
If you go to Ringling, the museum is great but I found the tour of the mansion is equally if not more fascinating right there on the property. There’s a nice little lunch place on the premises too.
Great food on Long Boat Key: Euphemia Haye Restaurant
Phillipi Creek Oyster Bar (best fish tacos on the planet), Lido Key.
Q-Tip is a little tuft of white hair barely visible above the steering wheel. Denotes danger to yourself and other drivers, pedestrians and bikers.
North of Sarasota the Weeki Wachee Mermaids are a must-see. Low entry cost which includes a boat ride on the clear stream plus a mermaid show. Then great swimming in the water complete with big water slide. We had a blast there.
Time for you to move back to the liberal hell hole from which you slithered.
Bring a winter coat... no wait..that’s Sarasota,NY in NoV.
Snook Haven (a few miles down the road)

Rum runners. The Amish pie place.
Don’t miss the Ringling Circus Museum. It’s worth a day if include the art exhibits.
I LIVE in Sarasota...it is a FABULOUS little place.....full of ARTS and FUN! What do you like?? ART, FOOD, SEASHORE, BOATING? You can FREEPMAIL me.

I second that.
LOL! Got a few buddies that live in Sarasota. They warn anyone who is thinking about moving there about gators and skeeters.
Siesta Beach is a must.
You’re right.
FL is awful. Nobody goes there anymore anyway; it’s too crowded.
Also,if you have free time drive up to Bradenton (a short drive) and check out the Tropicana plant. Many truckloads of oranges arrive regularly. And there are times when one can smell citrus as you drive nearby.
And if you have a lot of free time drive across the state on Route 41 from Naples to Miami. The Everglades...amazing.
You mean the rino that is way right of your candidate
Casey Key Fish House. If you are seated before 2:30 on Sunday, you can get a grouper dinner for $16.99. Sometimes it is snapper, but the ambience on the water is old Florida. Aross the parking lot is a Tiki bar with great margaritas and after 3:00 there is a band and you dance in the sand next to a small beach! I love taking guests there by pontoon boat from Freedom Boats in Venice.
For lunch and head over to longboat key and eat at salty dog. For dinner down the street and behind the gas station is Dry Dock. Bird man, bird sanctuary and mote Marine aquarium are right next-door to each other along with sea turtle rehabilitation. Also in longboat key, be careful as you can get a speeding ticket for 1 mile an hour over on longboat key. Absolutely no crime there. Dick Vitale’s original broken egg breakfast restaurant is on siesta key further south. Saint Armand Circle is where you buy your Christmas gifts for your family. Good Italian restaurant there can’t remember her name. Indoor gun range by the airport but very dangerous down there. Number one tip is when driving at night. Go slow. Lots of two legged vermin will walk across the street and pedestrian strikes are very high and Sarasota. Sarasota hospital is fantastic. Right behind it is a nice little shopping center with a good public market down the street from that is a botanical garden world class.
