Yuengling has launched limited-edition red, white and blue cans to support veterans in a timely marketing move that positions the brand to scoop up Bud Light’s ex-customer base.
In a statement released Wednesday, the Pennsylvania-based brewer announced the release of the patriotic can “with military nonprofit Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB) as part of the brewery’s Stars & Stripes program” to honor the nation’s heroes.
The cans, boasting a desert camouflaged print and Team RWB logo, made their debut on Yuengling’s Instagram page. “Our summer fit is back. Rock the Stars & Stripes with us,” the caption read.
Each can also boasts a QR code co-branded with Yuengling Lager and Stars & Stripes brand ambassador and American country music star Lee Brice. When scanned, the codes will allow beer drinker’s to watch Brice’s “More Beer” music video.
QR code scanners will also gain access to a virtual gift shop and will share more information about Yuengling’s July 9 free summer concert series, ticket giveaway to see Brice’s upcoming tour and ways to donate to Team RWB.
The ultra-patriotic initiatives are ever-present in Yuengling’s most recent press release, where chief administration officer Wendy Yuengling said: “As the oldest brewery in America, we are dedicated to supporting the U.S. military and are always seeking ways to further show our appreciation to those that protect our country’s freedom.”

Unfortunately Yuengling is not sold in Michigan. Tried to get the Selfridge BX to order a keg and they said they couldn’t. Bummer.
To back this up I somehow ended up with an empty Yuengling can, when I tried to get the deposit it was rejected.
Yuengling is just as crappy as Bud Light. Wouldn’t buy either of them.
and it’s damned good beer to boot.
That would work brilliantly!
Yuengling... it’s all we drink here in NE PA
Now THIS is how you do a marketing campaign if you want to capture a large segment of the consumer market.
Never a Budweiser fan. Even after touring the factory in St. Louis, where the post tour samples were Michelob, not Bud.
Yuengling is the oldest American brewery and besides being Family owned, it is women run. Great beer. Yuengling has a brewery here in Tampa.
That’s good beer. There is also a German brand named Karlsberg. Karlsberg’s brewery is located in Homburg in the Saarland. Use to be stationed not too far away. It’s also a very good beer.
When I used to drink beer, I would buy Leinenkugel occasionally. Not bad stuff.
Great looking can! Too bad they never sold it in my market area.
This would be a great time for them to jump in!
Might as well make the “attempt” The timing is right.
Yuengling is sold in Indiana. My sons usually get some when visiting from Colorado.
Up here in the thumb we can get it just about anywhere..
IPAs taste like vinegar mixed with fag fruits.
Take your meds and drink whatever ipa you want, real beer drinkers don't even consider ipa beer.
Fruits, ipa milkshakes, and every other "mixes" are drinkable but they are not beer.
Tell us how you really feel about IPA’s.
We drink their black and tan all the time.
