Now Ozempic patients say they're going BALD while on fat-loss shot — amid concerns about the drug's growing list of side effects

Patients using the blockbuster weight-loss drugs Ozempic and Wegovy say their hair has started to fall out in clumps.

An American TikToker who lost 60lbs while on Ozempic claims her hairline has receded so much she now has to cover it with makeup.

Another patient was so horrified after suffering hair loss she said that she would rather be 'fat and able to hide behind my hair than skinny with bald spots'.

Hair loss is not listed as a side effect of semaglutide, the active drug in both products, but the side effect showed up in clinical trials of Wegovy. It affected three percent of patients on the drug, compared to one percent in the placebo group.

Ozempic and Wegovy have already been linked to a host of other nasty side effects, including vivid dreams, suddenly being repulsed by common foods such as ground beef and losing muscle at an 'alarming rate'.

Oooh, don’t let AOC know that, or we’ll have Ozempic mandates if people want to keep their jobs.

They called her Dr

We have quite a mix of issues around the house. My wife has to deal with T1 diabetes. Rheumatoid Arthritis is my primary demon. 800 mg ibuprofen at bedtime for the last 25 years. It is getting less effective as the RA gets worse. I don't visit my doctor often. I did have an appointment last week with sleep apnea and RA on my topic of discussion. No action yet. Between the RA pain and the apnea AND my wife's low glucose alarms going off, it is getting more difficult to get a decent night's sleep.

Thanks for the recommendation. At this point I have zero prescription drugs to treat issues. All OTC and relatively cheap.

Obesity is a bigger epidemic than the virus ever was.

Just give it an EUA and let ‘er rip.

She’s such a fake I’m not surprised she changed her appearance. She’s a trend follower. I suspect she’s had some facial ‘work’.

Ozempic was pretty harsh on me....lost weight because I was sick to my stomach much of the time. Took me over a year to work up to a full weekly dose. It works controlling blood sugar for sure. Didn’t lose any hair tho...

Prednisone can help with quick relief from RA. Though many rail against it, it works. Also, Hydroxychloroquine used to be a common Rx for RA, but thanks to Biden and Fauci it is a challenge to obtain in the USA. Blame Trump. It is OTC in Canada and many other countries. If you know anyone in Canada or just visiting there, have them pick you up some. It is relatively inexpensive. . I would love to have a 10 year supply. The HCQ you can make at home.

HCQ would be a "two-fer" for me. Keeping the RA under control and improving my odds against COVID. I've had COVID in Jan 2022 and Jan 2023. Both rounds were about 10 days. Managed with just standard OTC supplements.

Increase flow rate by increasing heart rate and more fluid goes thru the kidneys. Some of your weight loss may be stored water. HR of 40 is low. Can lead to fluid retention.

Just thoughts of issues I’ve seen in patients before.

My regular doc is focused on my kidneys as well. He keeps sending me for urine tests - Microalbumin value of less than 1.2. Creatinine of 156mg/dL. I'm told that's really good.

My bariatric doctor told me I actually showed signs of dehydration - we live in the high desert - and that I need to drink more water.

In answer to the other questions that come up...I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, I rarely drink alcohol, I don't drink sugar sodas though I will have a diet soda now and then. If I have a food weakness it is peanut butter. That tends to be my go to snack. I like the brands that are lower in sugar. My job is fairly physical. My relatives that didn't smoke lived long.

Naltrexone is dirt cheap because you are cutting up the pill into at least 1/10. Several people here use it with Wellbutrin for auto immune issues but Wellbutrin gets so many bad reviews for side effects I dont do it.

The LDN trust has places to get the drug if your Doctors don’t cooperate with a prescription. It really is worth a try unless it is contraindicated for you.

I have a hydroxychloriquine prescription but elected to try LDN first. If you do HCQ you have to keep a watch on your eyes....and watch to see how it effects you given it relies on P450 enzymes to metabolize as per newly released study.

The one thing that really worked for me was doxycycline but it is too risky for me to take that on a long term basis because you might get hit with a super bug and then doxy doesn’t work. I felt the best I have felt in years when taking that doxy.
