Last we heard from Harvard’s David Hogg, he was working on a paper on the Second Amendment for his constitutional law class. He’ll probably get an A+ for the same reason Harvard granted him admission over much more gifted young people. Hogg’s takes on the Second Amendment are universally terrible, but Keith Olbermann got triggered by a tweet Thursday that led him to lay down the hammer on gun ownership.

#BREAKING: The Judiciary Committee just voted to repeal the ATF’s unconstitutional ban on pistol braces. Big win for the Second Amendment.

Keith Olbermann
@KeithOlbermann
Hey, asshole. How come the second amendment doesn't contain the word "own" or any synonym for it? Because it's not about private ownership.

Thanks for clearing that up! Usually, they go after the “musket” argument or the “well-regulated” argument. But if the founders had meant for people to own guns, they would have put the word “own” in there.
J.G. Petruna @jgpetruna '...the word "own" or any synonym...'
"...keep and bear..."
Keith, you're an idiot.

“Keith, you’re an idiot.”
Of course he is,as well as being an idiot.🤔
There should be anamandment to protect Americans from the likes of Keith Olberman.
I am surprised that no one has yet smeared Keith Olbermann with honey and staked him to an ant hill until he gets wise. I note that the Bill of Rights does not specifically prohibit that.
KO doesn’t keep or bear a single brain cell.
The Founders didn’t use the word “own” because they didn’t anticipate anyone as stupid as Olberman being in public life.
L
I meant to say a liar.
Hey A-Hole how come the first amendment does not say TV or Radio.
Why don’t they start going house to house confiscating them?
Pick any street in America and send deputies door to door to seize the firearms.
See what happens.
” ... the right OF THE PEOPLE to KEEP and bears arms shall NOT be infringed”.
It’s very clear.
Who’s Keith Olbermann?
Even better.
He probably thought he was so smart about that too lol
When I keep something it’s usually because I own it
Good one
So we can “keep and bear” them but we cannot own them?
That makes total sense.
Maybe Olberman would like to turn in any guns he or his body guards own before he throws any more stones...
did this guy bump his head or something....
The first amendment doesn’t say anything about radio, television or the internet. So does that mean that it does not apply there? The 4th Amendment doesn’t say anything about privacy. 5th Amendment has no language for a free attorney.
However, if you do a language analysis, the consistency of “the people” throughout the Constitution and the Bill of Rights means, Individual people as private citizens. Otherwise, every other amendment suddenly changes to only mean the people in terms of the people as a whole in the form of a government.
And, the government has no need to guarantee the right of itself to keep armaments. There is already a clause in the constitution about keeping and maintaining a navy and an army. Governments have always kept arms. There is little to no redundancy in the Constitution, so why would it exist here?
If the Founders had said ‘own,’ dumb mofos like Olbermann would be arguing the 2nd only guarantees our right to own firearms, not keep and bear them. SHUT UP KEITH!
