LA's celebrity-filled Beverly Hills neighborhood - where the median home price is $3.5MILLION - is awash with 'rapidly growing' homeless encampments

Beverly Hills is known for being a stomping ground of the Hollywood elite, but as homelessness in Los Angeles has grown, so too have its encampments.

The median house price in Beverly Hills is around $3.5million, yet those luxury houses are now juxtaposed against a clusters of tents, prominent along residential streets, highways and parks.

Photos taken on Tuesday reveal tarpaulins, shopping carts, mattresses and loose bedding next to busy junctions and on the sidewalks of the wealthy suburb.

The scenes were captured along San Vicente Blvd, near the upscale Beverly Center shopping mall where celebrities including Victoria Beckham, Paris Hilton and Hailey Bieber have all been known to shop.

An estimated 40,000 people are homeless in the city of Los Angeles, which has a population of nearly 4 million people.

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority estimated there were around 70,000 people experiencing homelessness in the wider Los Angeles County in 2022, a four percent increase since 2020.

In January the affluent Sherman Oaks neighborhood, just north of Beverly Hills made national headlines after three people died on its streets in just one week.

There are no certain statistics on homelessness in Beverly Hills, but in a report seen by local paper the Beverly Hills Courier, city manager Nancy Hunt-Coffey wrote that it 'seems to be increasing'.

Last year a number of residents in the neighborhood gave testimony to the city council on their experiences of homelessness as part of a discussion to address the escalating issue.

'Many of my peers are considering moving because they consider the situation hopeless,' said Amy Conroy, who said she is afraid to let her children play outside.

Recently elected Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass ran a campaign on claims she was going to address the growing homeless crisis in Los Angeles.

Case in point, here’s my former actor co-worker Scott Baio’s active “for sale” listing of his Hollywood mansion. He bought it, years ago, from a 2nd AD for over $1 million. Nice profit. Scott is moving to either Florida or Montana.

At least those elites won’t have to drive very far to find their drugs.

A couple vagrants are living in their car a few miles south of me. They parked on a jut out on the road a couple weeks ago. The entire area around their cars are already surrounded by piles of trash.

Many of my peers are considering moving because they consider the situation hopeless,

But, where would you move to, out where the peasant class lives? No situation is hopeless.....you just need to vote in a few more SJW programs, show people how to do democratic socialism "right."

Just stay where you're at and continue to do it in your own areas.....the rest of us will look in from the outside and learn from your stupidity successes.

You're doing great!

Whatever you reward you get more of.
Whatever you punish you get less of.

Our cities are becoming hell holes simply because Democrats want them to be. The question you have to ask yourself is why do they want this?

Answer - it is easier to siphon money from the public treasury (all in the name of doing good) when there are so many problems.

"It’s well past time the elite reap what they sowed instead of inflicting it on us and exempting themselves."

You are correct, but it will never happen. Those elites will continue to blame it on various bogeymen, like "systemic racism", "corporate greed", etc. And they will insist that the government must "do something", but all the government does is take money from productive people and throw it around, lining the pockets of their lobbyists (and their own, of course), while continuing to do things to make the problem even worse.

But the one thing that will never happen, is that the elites will suffer the consequences of their perfidy and malfeasance. Nothing short of total societal collapse will accomplish that, and then we're all brought down with them.

Shouldn’t they be welcoming the homeless into their homes? Communism for thee but not for me.

What do they pay 2nd ADs out there in Hollywood? Just how can a 2nd AD afford a place like that to begin with? I would think not even a 1st AD could afford a house like that, let alone a 2nd AD. This 2nd AD inherited any money or something like that? Did he have point sharing on any of the movies or tv shows he worked on?

By the way, 3.8 million is just ever so slightly out of my price range. How much for a cardboard box in the alleyway? ;-)

Tent dwellers are not homeless.

The tent dwellers ar those who choose to squat on public lands having tents as their homes.

Were the plains Indians who dwelled in Tipi’s homeless? No they lived in portable homes on tribal lands

Judgment Day is coming.

Nobody escapes their accounting with God.

Then they’ll wish the least they had to deal with was human justice, accountability, and consequences.

This all started when they let those damn Hillbillies move in 60 or so years ago, and it’s been downhill ever since.
