My heart cheers for the 49ers and I want them to take the Lombardi, but my head says they won’t get past the Jalen Hurts and the Eagles. Whatever happens, it’s been one hell of a run for them this year.

I said six weeks ago the 49ers were going to the Super Bowl, so no changing horses now. The Niners will beat the Eagles thanks to their smothering defense and Brock Purdy's Cinderella season continues.

As for the Bengals - Chiefs.... Hmm. Mahomes will not be one hundred percent, and Burrow and the Bengals looked pretty damn good last week. I think they sustain that level of play. The Bengals return to the Super Bowl.

SF beats KC in the Super Bowl.

Notes:

The SF-Bengals game is effectively the Super Bowl because they are the two best teams left standing. Of the four quadrants of pass/run/offense/defense, the only weakness in this game is the Eagles run defense.

KC’s #1 offense usually makes up for their mediocre defense (even when Mahomes is not 100%). However KC’s mediocre defense may be their undoing against the surging Bengals who looked like the best team last weekend.

Bengals: I was leaning towards KC until I heard Reid talking about how he had a special offensive plan to cover for Mahomes being hurt and I remembered that he's chocked big time in like 9 championship games and decided that if Mahomes needs Reid to step up in a big game, forget it.

Eagles: Home field matters. Plus rookie depite all the praise Purdy looked shaky last week but Cowboys kept dropping the balls he threw to them. Eagles will pressure him all day from all sides and our secondary doesn't drop balls like the Cowboys.
