Experienced a kidney stone 25 years ago. Doctor at that time went in invasively to get it and remove
Three nights ago, I was struck with another kidney stone attack. Lasted about 2 hours in the middle of the night.
24 hours later. Another one. Could feel the pain and the stone moving farther south.
Another one early this morning, still painful but I believe stone is making progress.
Refuse to go to any clinic or hospital, what do my wise freeper friends suggest to speed up the process and alleviate the pain.
While you may not wish to be seen I highly recommend a visit to the local ER. You need to know how big the stone is and whether the kidney is obstructed or not. If the stone is big enough to obstruct the ureter and put back pressure on the kidney you could be in danger of permanent loss of function of that kidney. Also monitor your temperature - an infection in a partially obstructed system can lead to overwhelming sepsis rather quickly. Any fever and you need to be seen emergently. Beyond that do NOT take any over the counter pain medicine beyond the recommended dose, and if your kidney function is impaired (needs a blood test to know) then any advil, aleve etc is too much
Massive amounts of vitamin C. Vinegar. Citrus fruits and juices. Anything to increase acidity.
Go to the ER, and get some medical help.
This could get serious, and you DON’T want to toy with kidneys or your urethra.
You’ll need to see a doctor. They can prescribe medication. Stop drinking soda and use lots of citrus. They’ll either need to blast it or it nay passion its own.
Seriously, do a quick Google search on apple cider vinegar mixed with water for kidney stones. ACV is heavily acidic and good to help dissolve the stone.
“Avoidance of the medical-industrial criminal complex is a smart move.”
Absolutely.
In a medical emergency, come to Free Republic and put your health in the hands of people who have no clue what they’re talking about.
Ps yes water water water and more water
You’d better bite the bullet and go to the hospital. While you say the stone is moving, it could stop at any time. If it is causing a backup, it could destroy your kidney/s. My dad lost a kidney even though he went to the hospital (turned out to be a congenital condition complicated by a stone). Don’t fool around, or you may be in the clinic 3x a week for dialysis.
the stone may get jammed which can cause more kidney damage.
Worse than that, is when stone is passing and gets stuck somewhere else, like urethra, and you CANNOT EMPTY YOUR BLADDER
You would pay any random person any amount for a cheap rubber catheter to pass. Absolutely

“My wife says apple cider vinegar mixed with water fixes EVERYTHING. Strong stuff so has to be heavily diluted.”

This will work but you’ll be in pain until the stone is gone, so take whatever strong pain meds you have and include an anti-inflammatory to reduce whatever swelling may be present. Hold a heating pad/hot water bottle on the area, too.
I would take 1-tablespoon shots of straight apple cider vinegar every 30 minutes or so and chase with water. Yes, it’s nasty but you can do it. If you experience relief from symptoms, you can dilute the vinegar but keep drinking it. Some people drink apple cider vinegar every day; I tried that but had to stop because it’s so yucky. If I had a stone or UTI I would drink it, though.
Cranberry juice is also recommended for urinary tract problems. We gals always know to turn to that!
But, you know, if you’re down for more than another day, you may have to go to your local hospital ER or a clinic. If they ask you if you’re vaccinated, just say yes!
Good luck.
Go get another experimental booster from the medical-industrial complex that proudly no longer adheres to the Hippocratic oath.
i greatly respect your reticence to go to the medics but
kidney stones are one of the things that they often care fix for you——quickly and painlessly....I didn’t feel a thing with the ultrasound...
at least make an appointment and find out what they say they can do for you?
Best wishes,
All true. My last kidney stone got hung up in my ureter and I had no choice but to go to the ER. Only there did I have to have lithotripsy done with a laser to blast it. I was out of commission for two weeks.
“The maximum amount of ibuprofen for adults is 800 milligrams per dose or 3200 mg per day (4 maximum doses).”
Good way to get kidney failure
NSAIDs are not renal friendly.
Seppuku…
This is who you have religious faith in.
My guess. Alcohol. Lots of alcohol.
I remember reading a study about roller coasters and kidney stones.
Sounds much more fun than the ER.

Of course, it happens the day I go on vacation with my family. I'm driving down the highway, like Clark Griswald in those Vacation movies, when suddenly I get this massive pain in my back.
I pull over at a rest area, rolling around the ground, while everybody else thinks I'm a junkie having withdrawal symptoms. My wife is giving me bottle after bottle of water. The kids are mostly disinterested, chasing butterflies and grasshoppers.
Finally I am able to get to the bathroom and pass the stone. I felt so immediately good afterwards that I took the family into a restaurant for a steak dinner. Steak never tasted so good.
