Hamlin tackled Bengals receiver Tee Higgins in the first quarter and got up briefly before falling backwards to the ground.
An ambulance raced on the field to treat the safety, who was taken away in the vehicle and immobilized.

Let me say this as respectfully as possible. You’re an idiot.
“word is the injury was from a direct hit to the heart”
—
I wouldn’t be surprised if the hit did ring his heart’s bell a good one.
I don’t think the game will continue.
Can we have 1 hour to pray for this man and get some information as to his condition before a-holes like you run with your stupid vax bitching. You are what’s worst in this country.
I notice the vax Nazis are increasingly quiet as the bodies of healthy people stack up.
Just awful....prayers for his entire family, and, all who love him. 🙏🏻
No words. A young man may be dying. ‘What a world’
Collapsed Suddenly.
This might be a case of new rules encouraging chest instead of shoulder tackles. I’ll never rule out jab either. Pretty sure not a concussion, he jumped right up.
a heart specialist just said if the hit occurs in the hearts “cycle”, it can be devastating...i would guess that meant mid-beat...
“None of these announcers/ coaches / players / networks criticized the thug.”
Jeff Saturday (Colts interim coach) criticized him. He’s angry the Colts O line didn’t respond to it. That wouldn’t have been tolerated when Jeff was the Colts’ Center for Peyton Manning.
The snow angel was extremely tacky.
You are a real ass!!!
My tagline... again.
jockeys have to wear flak jackets now and theyv’e made a tremendous difference...they really absorb the the energy of violent hits..
If it was the hit that stopped his heart, his heart didn’t need CPR—it needed to be shocked back into rhythm.
Remember when John McSherry dropped dead while umpiring behind home plate on opening day in Cincinnati 25 years ago? Of course McSherry was 300 lbs and 50ish.
Seriously??????
My father played football in the 1940s and in college in the 1950s
He played when they played without helmets. No face masks
He had vertebral fractures, had his teeth knocked out as did the guys he played with
We had football on for 30 years of college and NFL
No one ever dropped dead on the field
This is going to happen repeatedly in the next few years and we’re going to have to hear people say ‘it’s this or it’s that”
It is stroke. Period.
We know he was vaxed or could not play. Did not look like anything out of the normal.
Agreed. I posted too hastily. Honestly, when I saw the gif of the hit, it looked like he got slammed in his heart area. Hit in that area, such as with a baseball, can cause death. Prayers for him and his family.
