That was the primary concern.
My loss of faith in our government mostly rests on my lack of respect for the voting public. In a democracy, you not only get the government you want. You get the government you deserve.
It also focuses on my seeing the US as similar to the EU. As a Kentuckian, I am no more a Californian or New Yorker than a German is a Frenchman.
Stay away from Ukraine and anything that ends with istan.

My oldest is in Jonesborough (sp?) which IIRC is very close to Johnson City.
Unfortunately, there isn't a specialist in Johnson City for the condition I have. That makes me sad.
Awl’beny ‘was’ a great place to grow up as a kid. I lived on one of the plantations in Baker county but was born/raised in Albany. It is now nothing but hood. My sister says there is a ‘book’ that gets passed around to those in the know that want to get all the local/state/fed benefits that details the how-to and the right people to see and what to say. It has become the goto place of welfare crowd and it fights any change to politics. I look at Sylvester/Tifton/Moltrie/Thomasville/Valdosta and see how they are thriving and that is all the proof anyone needs to understand Albany...

In KS you can exclude Social Security from state tax on a Joint return with an AGI of less than $75k per year.
I lived in KS and worked in KCMO; (NO MORE!) Make certain if you move, do NOT move into KC MO which will also ding your butt for 1% of your income. Have you ever had to fill out a MO tax return? Total Pain in the ass.

I don’t like ice storms and you can’t tell me last February in Kansas City wasn’t brutal. I lived it. And that was without an ice storm. But if you like it, more power to you.
Green Bay WI or one of the surrounding counties. Green Bay has everything people need shopping and medical-wise, and it is easy to get around. It is a very safe city all things considered. The airport is easy to get in and out of, and drive-wise it’s only a few hours to MPLS and Shtcago. Performing arts in Appleton a half an hour south, on UWGB campus, and beautiful Door County an hour and a half northeast. The people are really friendly. You’ll get chatted up by strangers while shopping or waiting for a table.
