What We Knew In The Early Days Of COVID: Why all this came to be completely ignored remains the burning question.
Brownstone Institute ^ | 11/06/2022

The claim is now everywhere:

Actually, the precautionary principle goes both directions.

It also dictates that we not enact policies that we know for sure would wreck lives and liberties. They did it anyway, without sufficient knowledge that the measures would achieve any positive good.

We approach the third year and people have forgotten that all the harms of lockdowns were strongly warned about by many voices in many venues. In addition, the virus was much better understood back then and openly discussed. We knew for certain that the panic and fear were being wildly overblown.

Below follows resources assembled by the ‘Robber Baron‘ and many others who write for the Brownstone Institute. These citations from newspapers, magazines, academic journals and interviews, with many respected voices, show that we certainly knew tremendous amounts in the early days.

All the warnings and information were readily available to anyone paying attention.

We certainly live in an age of short attention span but many these signs and warnings came weeks or months before the world locked down and they chronicled the damage as it was happening.

Why all this came to be completely ignored remains the burning question.

The answer is as simple as it is inadmissible. Once COVID hit, all of the policymakers instinctively knew that it offered a perfect way to get Trump out of office, and all they had to do was screw things up in ways that made him look bad. The goal was to destroy the economy, and it worked. The untold human suffering, deaths, and economic ruin were shrugged off as collateral damage.

So called vaccines were/are the end game. Uncertainty and suppression paved the way for their Emergency Use Authorization or EUA. Alternative therapies were existential threat to EUA and ultimately to forced vaccination, and they were therefore banned from consideration or discussion. For example, Ivermectin, a Nobel prize winning drug suddenly labeled a horse de-wormer; why? Critical thinking is not a crime, yet.

Now we are finding out the numbers overseas were made up. Just like they were here. A lot of us always knew that, though. The parking lot at my hospital was empty. Plenty of Youtube vids showing empty hospitals.

All the vaxxers here fell for it all. Some bragging, being smug about their shots. I have lost 4 people in my circle of friends and family because of those shot.

40% to 50% of Covid deaths involve pneumonia.

Instead of mass vaccinations with experimental drugs, we should mass vaccinate the elderly and the infirm with pneumonia vaccines, which have been extensively tested.

Pretty obvious. The Deep State needed a tool to crash the economy and take down President Trump.

Several Leftists have said they could not have won the election in 2020 without the Covid panic and "emergency" powers.

Absolutely. Thousands of them. No one forced the NBA, NHL, concert promoters, etc. etc. to shut down. If you look back to early/mid 2020 you’ll see all kinds of businesses voluntarily shutting down. If for no other reason than their customers weren’t about to go out in public.

I'm calling bullshit on this and asking you to back up your ridiculous claim with citations the way you do with everyone else or retract your assertions.

Concerts were forced to shut down because of travel restrictions and quarantines. Bars, restaurants, and other hygiene businesses were forced to shut down by government executive orders.

Don't you remember that gym owner who kept defying the order in New Jersey to shut down until he was arrested and the city shut down his gym? The same thing happened in California and elsewhere.

I attended the very last concert that was held in the United States, the Eagles Hotel California Tour at the Toyota Center in Houston on March 7, 2020. The place was packed to the rafters with concert-goers who were not afraid of catching COVID-19.

On March 11, 2020, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner canceled the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show when one man in Montgomery County became sick.

After the annual rodeo in Houston was canceled by the mayor, the American Airlines Center in Dallas canceled the next dates of Eagles concert on March 12.

On March 17, 2020, the White House put out memorandum to Department Heads declaring:

The Federal Government is aggressively responding to the corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The Federal Government, in partnership with state and local governments and the private sector, is adopting a concerted near-term operations posture that will appropriately align critical resources to slow down the transmission of COVID-19, while also ensuring that Government operations continue...

In order to achieve this posture, consistent with The President's Coronavirus Guidelines for America, the Government must immediately adjust operations and services to minimize face-to-face interactions, especially at those offices or sites where people may be gathering in close proximity or where highly vulnerable populations obtain services...

Agency heads shall utilize the full extent of their legal authority and discretion to execute this realignment of non-mission-critical activities, while also ensuring that their agencies continue to serve the American people and operate in the most efficient manner possible to deal aggressively and promptly with the current situation. Agencies shall communicate with their customers to encourage them to delay transactions which are not time-critical and to ensure that available resources can be re-prioritized to mission-critical activities. Agencies shall communicate to the public how service levels may be impacted, and should leverage mechanisms for receiving and acting on feedback.

Citing the federal government, Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued his executive orders:

March 19, 2020 - Executive Order No. GA-08 Relating to COVID-19 preparedness and mitigation.

Order No. 1 - In accordance with the Guidelines from the President and the CDC, every person in Texas shall avoid social gatherings in groups of more than 10 people.

Order No. 2 - In accordance with the Guidelines from the President and the CDC, people shall avoid eating or drinking at bars, restaurants, and food courts, or visiting gyms or massage parlors; provided, however, that the use of drive-thru, pickup, or delivery options is allowed and highly encouraged throughout the limited duration of this executive order.

Order No. 3 - In accordance with the Guidelines from the President and the CDC, people shall not visit nursing homes or retirement or long-term care facilities unless to provide critical assistance.

Order No. 4 - In accordance with the Guidelines from the President and the CDC, schools shall temporarily close.

March 26, 2020 - EXECUTIVE ORDER GAll Relating to airport screening and self-quarantine during the COVID-19 disaster.
Every person who enters the State of Texas as the final destination through an airport, from a point of origin or point of last departure in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or the City of New Orleans, or in any other state or city as may be proclaimed hereafter, shall be subject to mandatory self-quarantine for a period of 14 days from the time of entry into Texas or the duration of the person’s presence in Texas, whichever is shorter. This order to self-quarantine shall not apply to people traveling in connection with military service, emergency response, health response, or critical-infrastructure functions, as may be determined by the Texas Division of Emergency Management.
March 29, 2020 - Relating to roadway screening and self-quarantine during the COVID-19 disaster.
Every person who enters the State of Texas through roadways from Louisiana, or from any other state as may be proclaimed hereafter, shall be subject to mandatory self-quarantine for a period of 14 days from the time of entry into Texas or the duration of the person’s presence in Texas, whichever is shorter. This order to self-quarantine shall not apply to people traveling in connection with commercial activity, military service, emergency response, health response, or critical-infrastructure functions, as may be determined by the Texas Division of Emergency Management.
March 31, 2020 - EXECUTIVE ORDER GA14 Relating to statewide continuity of essential services aizd activities during the COVID-19 disaster.
In accordance with guidance from DSHS Commissioner Dr. Hellerstedt, and to achieve the goals established by the President to reduce the spread of COVD-19, every person in Texas shall, except where necessary to provide or obtain essential services, minimize social gatherings and minimize in-person contact with people who are not in the same household.

“Essential services” shall consist of everything listed by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in its Guidance on the Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce, Version 2.0, plus religious services conducted in churches, congregations, and houses of worship. Other essential services may be added to this list with the approval of the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM).

In accordance with the Guidelines from the President and the CDC, shall avoid eating or drinking at bars, restaurants, and food courts, or visiting gyms, massage establishments, tattoo studios, piercing studios, or cosmetology salons; provided, however, that the use of drive-thru, pickup, or delivery options for food and drinks is allowed and highly encouraged throughout the limited duration of this executive order.

This executive order does not prohibit people from accessing essential services or engaging in essential daily activities, such as going to the grocery store or gas station, providing or obtaining other essential services, visiting parks, hunting or fishing, or engaging in physical activity like jogging or bicycling, so long as the necessary precautions are maintained to reduce the transmission of COVID- 19 and to minimize inperson contact with people who are not in the same household.

In accordance with the Guidelines from the President and the CDC, people shall not visit nursing homes, state supported living centers, assisted living facilities, or long-term care facilities unless to provide critical assistance as determined through guidance from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

I kind of like the idea of a Nuremberg Covid trial.

To me the biggest crime against humanity was the massive death of the elderly in nursing homes, assisted care facilities, etc. Most of those older patients were on state funded (underfunded) Medicaid facilities.

The raging death tolls, while nobody did anything was criminal. It literally took months to start implementing protocols at facilities that are suppose to be regulated by the states.

The other huge crime was the intentional destruction of jobs, business and the economy with little to no scientific basis.

My opinions...

We do know there was a lot of hypocrisy and unwillingness to follow their own rules among the political class. I'm not sure why.

In my opinion, the hypocrisy came from knowing that the rules were a facade to be used to change the election laws in the lead-up to the November 2020 elections. It wasn't a coincidence that the toughest lock-downs (and the most hypocrisy) came from the swing states where elections were controlled by Democrats.

We do know Cuomo sent the sick back to nursing homes instead of the hospital ship. I'm not sure if that was callous anti-Trump hospital ship politics or just bureaucratic idiocy.

In my opinion, given that it wasn't just the Hospital Ship Comfort that was unused but also the makeshift hospital at the Javits Center that was totally under New York's control, I'm going with the latter.

Remember there was a legitimate fear of hospital overcrowding and lack of ventilators.

In my opinion, this is a sad reminder of what happens when people lock their minds on a problem/solution. For some reason, when people were dying on ventilators it seemed like the problem was a lack of ventilators. It wasn't until the summer of 2020 that scientists began to think that COVID-19 wasn't a "disease of the lungs," but a "disease of the endothelial cells."

It wasn't until some doctors suggested that the symptoms they were observing were from oxidative stress resulting from glutathione deficiency in the elderly, that the true nature of the virus began to emerge.

The lockdowns were only partial and that has to be considered in their effectiveness.

I'm not sure what you mean here.

Remember the crazy stuff like when Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer locked down stores like Home Depot and told them they couldn't sell gardening equipment because she didn't want people going outside during the lockdown to do home improvement projects? From The Washington Examiner (April 16,2020): Gretchen Whitmer's gardening restrictions make no sense

I made the point early on during the lockdowns that customers were already locking down without mandates. Air travel had plummeted, all sorts of consumer traffic had plummeted, theater traffic had plummeted. The lock downs mandates in some cases gave businesses permission to close doors and do layoffs.

See my post here on the lengths that Texas went in March 2020 to lock down.

This wasn't "permission" to close businesses, it was wholesale shut-downs exacerbated by travel restrictions and self-quarantines. Live theater shut down partly because the talent (concert performers, touring companies) would have been subject to the quarantines, but mostly because state governments enacted bans on large gatherings. Bars and restaurants that couldn't support take-out services went out of business.

That hypocrisy occurred among the political and elite class, does not mean the rules were a joke or of no benefit. But rather just that they don't follow rules.

In my opinion, maybe not when it's a Gretchen Whitmer, AOC, or Gavin Newsom breaking the rules. But when it's the creators of those rules like Deborah Birx or Anthony Fauci who break them, then the rules themselves become in doubt. When churches can't hold services but leftists can hold street protests, then the rules themselves become the question.

A couple of things we should learn buried in there.
  1. When things aren't working as expected with a new disease, Physicians should not have to put their license or careers on the line to violate established protocols and try something different. Both the national institutions and provider organizations such as hospitals and clinics should loosen the reigns in that scenario. I remember some doctors in New York that really put their necks out when it came to changing protocols for patients needing ventilation.
  2. When a better treatment protocol has been found, there needs to be quicker confirmation and information dissemination to other providers.
  3. We need to protect nursing homes from sending contagious diseases back to them.
  4. In face of the official "do nothing prior to hospitalization" several organizations such as front line doctors came up with pre-hospitalization therapeutics. Failure by the national institutes to consider these protocols was criminally negligent. They failed the first law of robotics: "A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm."

Thank you for posting this. "Why all this came to be completely ignored remains the burning question."

The Covid hysteria has been mythic and an over-sized hoax. It was one in an installment of several hoaxes designed to attack the economy of the United States and its citizens, for the purposes of wealth transfer to the few and the weakening of the many.

As of 7 November 2022,

( 6,600,671 Global Deaths / 7,931,549,571 ) x 100 = 0.083 percent mortality rate over 35 months.

Less than one-tenth of one percent across nearly three years. This has not been a true pandemic.

Sources: https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/ and https://www.census.gov/popclock/

( 1,072,594 U.S. Deaths / 6,600,671 Global Deaths ) x 100 = 16.2 percent of all Covid Deaths worldwide in the US alone, with its four percent of the world's population.

The conclusion should be drawn from the "official sources" as cited above that the Fauci-led "Covid" response was FOUR TIMES MORE DEADLY than the worldwide tally. The differences here have been the "protocol," kidney-killing remdesivir and ventilators too often and inappropriately used according to that "protocol."

The lockdowns were unnecessary, and sparked by hoax videos from China, the first PC test coded in Berlin in January 2020 was based solely on Chinese data BEFORE the pandemic was announced by the WHO, and the last several years have been attacks are various levels of the authoritarian sorts against a general citizenry based on a hoax, media hype and unfounded fear.

The proper response is Nuremberg 2.0 trials for those who instigated and accelerated and maintained the whole. No "amnesty" given the above hard data and fact that the US "Covid" response was among the worst in the world.

Also, it was well known that low-cost potential treatments were available. Instead of rational tests, and making them freely available, the stupid and evil powers that be refused to test them and promote them. Media deliberately communicated false info on chloroquine instead of HCQ.

This post-mortem needs to be looked at as a crime scene, not just a “what can we do better next time.”

Doctors in America either know very little about the necessity of maintaining our immune system with vitamins and supplements, especially among the elderly, or else they are so beholden to the pharmaceutical companies that they refuse to acknowledge this. How many lives could have been saved and be saved in the future if our doctors would monitor and promote good immune system care. Fauci’s people and the media should have been promoting at the very least the necessity of taking maximum dosages of vitamins C and D3, zinc along with Quercetin (or better yet HCQ), and NAC. Medicare and my Medicare suppliment company sent alert messages about immunization shots, but I have yet to hear them mention anything about vitamins and suppliments. Humana sent me free masks (with their logo on them of course) while it would have been better to send a bottle of vitamin D3.
