MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle Cheers Abortion as Good for Economy, Reason to Vote Democrat

On Tuesday's The 11th Hour show, MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle wrapped up the show by promoting the twisted view that aborting unborn babies is good for the economy. Ruhle introduced the final segment by playing a clip from her show from Friday on which liberal actress Amber Tamblyn declared: "I think we're forgetting that abortion and this kind of access is an economic issue."

After a clip of Ruhle injecting, "Sure is," Tamblyn added: "It's a huge economic issue. It's just not a front and center, in the moment, economic issue." Ruhle further added: "It is for a woman who has an unwanted pregnancy."

The MSNBC host then appeared live and set up a similar commentary delivered recently by liberal activist Leigh McGowan. Here's Ruhle:

"The Last Thing Before We Go Tonight," abortion and the economy. You heard it during our Friday night chat last week. Access to abortion is an economic issue. Our friend, Leigh McGowan, aka "Politics Girl," understands this connection in a very personal way. She shares her story and takes a deep dive into the issue in her new video. Watch this.

McGowan was seen referring to a recent poll finding that more voters choose to vote based on the economy than on abortion, leading her to then complain:

I am so deeply sick and tired of this framing. It's not abortion or the economy. Abortion is part of the economy. What do you think happens to the economy when women are forced to carry babies they can't afford or aren't ready for? What do you think happens to the economy when women have to drop out of school or leave their jobs to care for a child?

Without acknowledging adoption as an option, she complained about the expenses of raising a child, and eventually concluded by encouraging her viewers to vote for Democrats:

If you're voting on the economy, vote for the party that allows Americans to decide what is best for their own lives -- a party that keeps women in the workplace if that is where they want to be -- the party that is working to keep costs manageable for families on a budget -- the party that voted to raise the minimum wage and tax major corporations to lower prescription drugs prices -- the party that wants to shore up Social Security, not take it away. It's not "abortion or the economy." Choosing to bring a child into the world is an economic issue, so stop separating them because they are inextricably linked.

Ruhle then appeared again and agreed: "They are indeed inextricably linked. It is abortion and the economy."

The show's admiration for McGowan dates all the way back to when Brian Williams was hosting. He similarly once concluded the show with commentary of the liberal activist trying to advise Democrats on how to react to their losses in the 2021 elections.

And during their commentary on Friday's show, MSNBC contributor Anan Giridharadas went so far as to declare that President Joe Biden should have made a stunt out of visiting an abortion clinic and helping to sign women in.

This twisted pro-abortion bias was sponsored in part by Charles Schwab. Their contact information is linked.

Transcripts follow:

MSNBC's The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle

October 28, 2022

11:38 p.m. Eastern

STEPHANIE RUHLE: Amber, this is the first election -- the first midterm election since Roe versus Wade was overturned. We saw how energized the country was -- women were -- over the summer -- and then I keep reading headlines they're not as motivated. How can that be?

AMBER TAMBLYN, ACTRESS: Well, I think, one of the things I want to point out, speaking of, to the economy, as well, is that I think we're forgetting that abortion and this kind of access is an economic issue.

RUHLE: Sure is.

TAMBLYN: It's a huge economic issue. It's just not a front and center, in the moment, economic issue.

RUHLE: It is for a woman who has an unwanted pregnancy.

(...)

ANAN GIRIDHARADAS, MSNBC CONTRIBUTOR: I would have loved to see President Biden the next week after the Dobbs decision in Texas signing women in in an abortion clinic --

TAMBLYN: Absolutely, absolutely.

GIRIDHARADAS: -- show -- make people -- take stunts. The Democrats are struggling to pick fights, as you were talking about, struggling to have messages that galvanize people -- and struggling to offer a thrilling alternative to the awfulness of Trumpism. It's not just enough to say those people are dangerous.

RUHLE: Okay, we got to leave it there, David. We got to take a quick break. The final message is, Democrats need to take the gloves off and start fighting.

MSNBC's The 11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle

November 1, 2022

11:56 p.m. Eastern

AMBER TAMBLYN, ACTRESS (from Friday's show): I think we're forgetting that abortion and this kind of access is an economic issue.

STEPHANIE RUHLE: Sure is.

TAMBLYN: It's a huge economic issue. It's just not a front and center, in the moment, economic issue.

RUHLE: It is for a woman who has an unwanted pregnancy.

RUHLE (live): "The Last Thing Before We Go Tonight," abortion and the economy. You heard it during our Friday night chat last week. Access to abortion is an economic issue. Our friend, Leigh McGowan, aka "Politics Girl," understands this connection in a very personal way. She shares her story and takes a deep dive into the issue in her new video. Watch this.

LEIGH McGOWAN, LIBERAL ACTIVIST: ABC just released a poll that said, although the majority of Americans agree with Democrats on abortion, the number one issue is the economy, so they're going to vote on that. And I just have to say that I am so deeply sick and tired of this framing. It's not abortion or the economy. Abortion is part of the economy. What do you think happens to the economy when women are forced to carry babies they can't afford or aren't ready for? What do you think happens to the economy when women have to drop out of school or leave their jobs to care for a child?

You know what's a kitchen table issue? How many people are sitting at your kitchen table. We live in a country where it can cost over $20,000 just to have a baby. We have no paid family leave, no affordable child care. We are constantly defunding public schools. We don't have affordable health care or college. Adding to your family is 100 percent an economic issue in this country.

(...)

RUHLE: They are indeed inextricably linked. It is abortion and the economy.

[Abortion is part of the economy.]

Oh yeah, that makes perfect sense. I can totally see that. Impeccable logic.

Yes, being ghoulish can be profitable. If we killed everyone on their 60th birthday it would also be very profitable. So would culling the bottom 10% of society and using their parts for organ transplants and fertilizer. So would conquering other nations and enslaving them.

Once again we see the failure of the American public education system — all these young women, and apparently none of them know how not to get pregnant.

Five million alien invaders have crossed the southern border while the woke media glorify abortion in every way practically making it sexually exciting and while our southern border is liquidated the US is effectively in a quasi war to protect the border of of the Ukraine. Here is the liberal death wish and cultural hatred of the US on full display.

Now we reached the point Homo Economius dominates any public policy discussion. I gues that is what happens when society no longer has any common moral standard.

Spiritually blind and immorally stupid are to be shunned along life’s journeys. One is blessed that has eyes that see and minds not polluted by the sewage of the culture.

And abstinence is even cheaper.

“And abstinence is even cheaper.”

True. With the exception of good Judeo Christian families who have taught their children about morality and values, that isn’t going to happen. So the next best thing is a condom. Even a 7 year old knows how to use them, as taught by our wonderful public school system.

“Homo Economius”

Nice term. I remember in 1976, our 200th birthday, when a European guy was interviewed and asked what he thought of Americans. He said we’re economic entities. Ask an American what he does and he’ll talk about his job. Ask a European and he’ll talk about the things he enjoys like skiing in the Alps.

That attitude Europeans have about Americans have been around for a long time. This has been a subject that has inspired authors, including, Henry James.

I suppose both cultures have their good and bad points.

This is a tempest in a teapot.

We need to deal with the reality that purebloods need to be protected from 'true believers' of 'clot shots' who shed the disease to others around them.

So abortions on inoculated CoVIDIANS is fine; they will realize the genocide soon enough. But we should consider extraordinary birth efforts only for the children of purebloods uncontaminated by the 'clot shot'.
