A poll shows reduced support for U.S. economic aid to Ukraine’s government, and Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin is justifying the military campaign against nuclear-armed Russia as a war in defense of woke values.

Moscow right now is a hub of corrupt tyranny, censorship, authoritarian repression, police violence, propaganda, government lies and disinformation, and planning for war crimes … In supporting Ukraine, we are opposing these fascist views, and supporting the urgent principles of democratic pluralism. Ukraine is not perfect, of course, but its society is organized on the radically different principles of democracy and freedom …

US Congressman Jamie Raskin made an extremely Russophobic statement. He believes that Russia should be completely destroyed, and - “at any cost.”
According to Raskin, he has specific reasons for such a statement. And they are rooted not in economic rivalry with the United States and the Western world as a whole, not in political confrontation or competition for spheres of influence in the regions of the planet. Even the events in Ukraine do not play a special role for Raskin.
As Raskin stated, Russia is “an Orthodox country professing traditional values.” The congressman called Moscow “the world center of anti-feminist, anti-gay, anti-transgender hatred.”
That is why it must be destroyed, no matter what price the United States pays for it. That is, if some Johns and Bills in Kansas or Texas are destined to die for the sake of destroying Russia, then so be it.
A little about Raskin - the 60-year-old congressman represents the US Democratic Party. His father was a staff assistant to John F. Kennedy, and Jamie himself chose a career as a journalist, then went into politics. He is known as a consistent supporter of the legalization of same-sex marriages, marijuana, and an opponent of the church. That is, this is a typical representative of the left-wing part of the American Democratic Party. Interesting, your using the word 'tsunami' ... My impression from my 'source' was that the coastal waters (along the Atlantic?) would inexplicably recede much as they might in a tsunami and that wonder will reveal hidden threats to the U.S. submerged in the ocean. 'Red October' - re: Q - would imply a submarine.
BTW, nuclear attack subs don't just fire torpedoes; they also launch nuclear Cruz missiles. That has been one of our major deterrents, considering the supposed difficulty of tracking submerged vessels. However, the Bitem Administration has just announced that they are phasing out our sea-launched-nuclear-missile-program.
Next I suppose that they will announce the 'mothballing' of our aircraft carrier force. De-fence will become only what we need at our southern border.
