Analysis of the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage. I use Kilcullen's theory about liminal warfare and prospect theory to analyse the operational design. This shows that Russia is the most likely suspect, because all other actors would have made different operational choices.
I then give some pretty depressing perspectives on how Russia might use hybrid warfare against Europe.

Putin did it. The above video confirms these suspicions. It does not prove them. Rus has had all kinds of mini submarines for years. They had the means and the motive to blow it up.

Biden is right there on video actually promising sabotage of the pipeline.
I am somewhat skeptical that Russia blew up the pipeline. Russia having an intact but turned-off pipeline gives them a lot of leverage over Germany in particular “Hey, it’s a really cold winter. We’d love to reactivate our pipeline as soon as you lift sanctions and stop arming Ukraine.”
The blown up pipeline makes a diplomatic settlement much less likely. This benefits war-mongers and Ukraine, not Russia so much.
In contrast, I am bewildered by conservatives passing around that Biden video as evidence the US blew it up. Biden says the economy is not headed for recession. Does anyone believe him? Biden says the Inflation Reduction Act is just about to kick in. Does anyone believe him? If Biden announced that tommorow is going to be very sunny how many Freepers automatically reach for their umbrellas? So why in God’s name are people posting rambling incoherent nonsense and claiming it’s a coherent military promise?
The video has a good point I think that if the US wanted to disable the pipeline permanently, they would have arranged an explosion on the Russian side and had it be very mysterious with people thinking it might have been an accident or maybe anti-Putin Russians or .... But the video’s explanation of Russia’s puported motives did not convince me they did it.
I think the Urkanians have the most to gain from a blown-up pipeline. But I’m not convinced they have the ability to do so. Other than that I don’t know and haven’t been convinced by anyones arguments so far.
