LOL...thanks again for making my point.

Even for a low IQ idiot, you’re a special kind of stupid.

LOL You’re the one who resorted to sniveling and throwing out insults like a little girl over a typical Gen X versus Boomer discussion, because obviously you’re not man enough to have such a discussion without crying like a bitch.

I had a good friend (older of course) who served in the same.

He was rescued by the Airborne while hunkered down under his wrecked tank with a 45 pistol and 3 bullets left, he liked the Airborne a whole lot.

All these years I thought I was a Boomer.

Now they tell me I am Gen X.

Seems they redraw the lines every time they want to explain a new pole or economic study.

I’m an early Boomer and I take exception to that, my lifetime motto has always been;

“TRUST NO ONE, BELIEVE NOTHING, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, PROVE IT TO YOUR OWN SATISFACTION”!

The last year of the Baby Boom was 1957. Most people don’t realize it lasted that long, because it used to be called “the postwar Baby Boom.”

We believed in the communist menace back then. Who could forget the Cuban Missile Crisis?

Sunday will be the 60th anniversary of the date dependents were evacuated from GITMO and President Kennedy announced the crisis to the world. They yanked us out of school, took us home, and we boarded the ships with our mothers. Of course Dad stayed on the base.

The ship we were on had been taking old ammunition out to sea to be dumped when it got the orders to evacuate us. Because it was overloaded it couldn’t keep up with the convoy, so we were alone. A Soviet submarine was alongside us the whole trip. We learned after the fall of the Soviet Union they had orders to sink our ship if hostilities broke out.

The world was a hair’s width from thermonuclear war.

Q: "But seriously does no one else remember preppies and pearls,

What does that mean?

I think it refers to the trend of sweater vests, loafers, and the dress trends (Izod). Think Alex Keaton.

In the 80s at different times there were different fashion elements borrowed from as far back as the Victorian up through the 60s and the different styles were worn by different elements within society. The girls among the class royalty tended to dress as preppies and preppy girls wore a lot of pearls.

When we consider the rest of that retards post we can come to the conclusion that she is still angry that the girls from the top social circle in her high school were mean to her.

(In the 80s Gen X certainly wasnt in a position to manipulate Wall Street or, with the exception of some rock stars, be able to afford to pound cocaine up our noses. She isnt the sharpest knife in the drawer.)

The term was assigned to that generation before they were even born just as future generations are already being named today even though they dont yet exist.

(Most of us were too busy working and partying to spend time “slacking” by watching those types of stupid movies.)

The first half and the second half are almost different generations unto themselves. By 94 when Friends went on the air we were already in the service or trying to find our place in the corporate world and maybe start our own businesses. Maybe the second half sat around watching that when it aired. Every woman did seem to have it on VCR mostly because there wasnt much else on.

We would have shot Cobain and Love ourselves had we the chance. Grunge was the destruction of the rock star life we were trying to live when we werent working. Our off time went from singin, dancin, drinkin and sexxin to “parties” where it was cool to sit around with angry guys until some drunk incel picked a fight.

“The media”. And all boomers were laying around half naked and stoned at Woodstock then moved off to live on some free love commune where they subsisted on weed and acid. We know it must be true because the media has said so since the 60s.

It's a generalization, and like with every generalization, it isn't true for every single person. It represents a general trend, like saying that Asians are short (or smart - I knew a dull-witted Chinese dude in college). It may represent a majority of the group, but certainly not all.
