A recent New York Times poll found that 59% of those aged 45 to 64 plan on voting for Republicans in this coming midterm election.
Republicans also have an advantage among likely voters – they hold a 49%-45% lead in the poll.

I’m at the tail end of Gen X. I was born after 3 mile island, but before the Iranian hostage crisis, and I’m a proud Trump supporter.
Having never been a liberal I never cared for that quote, and I wasn’t the only one.
Under 30 voters went 52% for Nixon, and under 30-year-olds were the strongest supporters of the Vietnam war, and volunteers accounted for 70% of the Vietnam war deaths.
I delivered newspapers and then bought my own power lawn mower from one of my customers and started cutting my newspaper customer’s lawns, by 13 me and my buddy were doing like 18 lawns a week, shoveled all their snow every winter too.
When those get a taste of socialism and Marxism it’s not an easy selling point.
I think Gen X was the last generation to grow up before the universal leftist brainwashing that occurs now K-12 and up, and on TV and movies and commercial music, etc, so they were the last generation to know what the real world looked like. They have had a front row seat to the growing insanity - young enough to have rolled with the changes but old enough to remember the way things were. The younger generations don’t know what a sane world looks like.
Meanwhile, the Boomers still think in terms of the old America, and grew up in a time where mass manipulation and disinformation was already occurring, but very few people were aware of it. I think the Boomers are the only generation that still has any trust in the old institutions - mainstream media, the government, law enforcement, etc.
They were also taught in college by professor who are now in their late 70’s and early 80’s, and their HS teachers were predominantly the hated Boomers. Both groups being people that actually had a grasp of their subject matter and taught facts not propaganda.
My youngest sister was born in 1969. Her 6th grade class was equally divided by youngest kids raised by silent generation parents or oldest kids raised by boomer parents. That doesn’t happen by accident. My sister was almost exclusively friends with the youngest kids all through high school. The other kids were different.
I wondered what the purpose of the study was, who ran it, how many kids were unknowingly part of it and what the results were.
Since it has pretty much been established by the media that if you are a Republican, you are in fact a Nazi, pollsters shouldn't be surprised when GOP voters don't answer honestly, --or don't answer at all.
We believed in the communist menace back then. Who could forget the Cuban Missile Crisis? I was petrified that i would die a virgin.
Maybe they’ll burn down washington dc again like they did in 2016. I don’t guess anyone will be arrested for insurrection.
Have you achieved your goal? ;^)
Did the virgin thing ever get fixed?
That’s weird
I’m glad to be part of Gen X as well, but we got to where we are today as conservatives standing on the shoulders of giants who were Boomers and older.
Rush Limbaugh, case in point.
Democratic Socialists like AOC, Bernie and Hitler always rage against people who disagree with them. Rage is all they have because there positions are not logical to begin with.
Rage is all they have but as history has taught us, that rage can be very very dangerous.
I believe the biggest part of “Boomers” are conservatives and are truly patriotic...
Someone 64 years old is Gen-X?
Lord help me.
Self-reliance pretty much explains my generation. I had to come home to an empty house, cook my own dinners, was told to play from dusk til dawn, rode bicycles and hiked out in the country, and pretty much wore my older brother hand-me-downs.
Gen-X’ers know BS when we see it and we aren’t afraid to call it out. Our parents were too old to be Boomers and we have enough perspective to see how insanity has taken over the younger generations.
I’m GenX. Our generation is sidelined watching 70 and 80 year olds refuse to retire from leadership and screaming millennials poised to seize it when they finally keep over. We’re going to be a generation that watched the nation slide into fascism while never having a voice. It’s a bummer. Oh well. Whatever.
