Last week, a wild situation took place during Monday night’s NFL game between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers when a spectator ran onto the field with pink flares in a form of protest. When security was unable to apprehend the protester quickly, Rams players Takkarist McKinley and Bobby Wagner took matters into their own hands by tackling the protester, and it looks like they might have caused a serious injury.
The protester, identified as Alexander Taylor, filed a police report after the incident with his spokesperson alleging “blatant assault” by Wagner. The police report reveals that Taylor suffered some serious injuries as a result of the incident, including a burn on his arm and a concussion.
“Mr. Taylor had a headache, concussion without loss of consciousness, and a burn on his inner right bicep,” cops said in the report, according to TMZ Sports.
The burn on his arm is likely due to the pink flare Taylor carried onto the field. The concussion, meanwhile, is due to Wagner’s tackle.
Wagner revealed after the game that he was simply helping out security by tackling the protester.
“I just saw somebody running on the field, and he looked like he wasn’t supposed to be on the field,” Wagner said after the game. “I saw security was having a little problem, so I helped him out.”
The police are continuing to investigate the incident.
Not true
Nope you’re nuts
But for the act of trespassing (jerk was where he had no right to be) the man would’ve had no injuries
Pink flares. What was he “protesting?”
Keep in mind he had a weapon (lit flare, which injured him, so definitely a weapon) and was close enough to BE tackled. It’s self defense.
The guy should have worn a helmet.
Better yet, stay off the field.
You've never heard of Good Samaritan laws?
Do you think there is something special about stadium security personnel that makes them more qualified than anybody else to stop a disruptor? Those people aren't policemen, they are glorified ticket-takers, people who keep people in their proper seating sections and escort hooligans out of the stadium.
Nobody knew what else the person with a smoke bomb was capable of doing. What if he planned to throw that cannister into the stands to create a panic so he could get away in the ensuing chaos? Those players did the right thing. They are people first, players second. They saw something and did something.

Hard to feel sorry for a dweeb making a bad choice. Am i to feel sorry for every idiot that runs a stop sign and gets injuured or killed?
Own your stupidity. And drive alone.
It is not the job of the LA Rams players to provide on field security and when they did, they caused injury.
How do you know that dweeb didn’t have a weapon and intended harm? Football player was in fear for his life, works both ways; who was in the wrong place by his choice and decisions?
A professional football field is, as the multiple injuries suffered by players on a weekly basis displays, is a dangerous place and should be avoided if you are not a pro which the injured idiot is clearly not. His willful act should not be rewarded by any compensation. JMHO!
All you have to do is say, “It’s Comin’ Right For Us!”
They should’a stamped upon his testicles; we don’t need that kind breeding!
Golddigger
Tough crap. You stepped out onto the field, you were liable to get hit - hard. Don’t like it? Don’t step onto the field.
If the guy had decided to just streak across the field, he probably wouldn’t have been hurt.
Run out carrying flares? That’s another story. Those can cause actual physical harm.
I also don’t think it was readily apparent that the trespasser didn’t have other weapons with him.
I vote self-defense.
Well, if we didn’t live in bizarro world... I guess we’ll get to see how that works out.
And Nifster - stop talking about my nuts. It’s creepy.
Wow You sure took that in a weird direction
the interloper could have had a bomb, or carfentanil, or a gun, or a body bomb....no one knew....He shouldn’t be on the field...nowadays, he would be immediately suspected as a possible mass murderer...
“A professional football field is, as the multiple injuries suffered by players on a weekly basis displays, is a dangerous place and should be avoided if you are not a pro which the injured idiot is clearly not.”
Yeah, it’s like suing the tiger that mauled your face when you jumped into the tiger exhibit at the zoo to protest tiger killings in India.
