The Palace's confirmation came after The Sunday Times reported that conservative Prime Minister Liz Truss objected to Charles attending the conference, known as COP27, when she met with the king last month at Buckingham Palace. The Times' report suggested that Truss' advice had influenced the king's plans. King Charles has attended the conference in the past.
But a member of Truss' Cabinet said the government and palace were in agreement about the decision.
Clarke also rejected suggestions that Truss didn't want Charles to attend the summit because she intends to water down Britain's climate goals. The government remains committed to the achieving its target of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, he said.

Remember, many of the same weirdos who want to initiate nuclear war with Russia are attending this summit.
We can all agree that anthropogenic climate change is greatest scam since the ‘shoot the red star out with the bb machine gun’ game at the count fair took all my money as a kid.
I’m starting to like this Prime Minister.
Is this the beginning of the end for this Climate Change Hoax??,,, BS, Gifting, Corruption, madness... wake up people.
Someone should nuke ‘em...from orbit.🤔
Britain made a very wise exit out of the EU. I’m sure it has little desire to be under the thumb of the WEF’s “reset.”
Charles’ new position requires that he ‘abdicate’ from political issues. I’m sure his mother had political opinions, but she properly kept them to herself.
Prince William did very well with the Duchess of Cambridge.
She’s very smart, kind hearted, and beautiful.
Sorry, Harry. You are no longer a part of the In-Crowd.
Be careful what you wish for...you know the rest.
Probably because it’s too close and he can’t use a personal jet to go there.
I’m the same age as Charles. We shrank.
Why is Dr Jill there?
That’s really a very poorly set up photograph. Unless William had just spilled something on his pants. Photographer should have stepped to his right a foot or two as well. Presumably they wanted the painting in the scene, but they should have lightened it up a bit so it would be recognizable if so.
Thoughts?
Queen Elizabeth was never political and since Queen Victoria ruled, her decedents have avoided politics. When you rule as queen or king you rule over everyone, so you should typically keep your opinions to yourself... King Charles would be wise to follow that same tradition.
Charlie should be seen and not heard.
Maybe not seen much either.
If Charles is politically neutral as King, he’ll earn my respect just like Elizabeth had mine. But Charles has a long way to go.
