I didn't know William was so much taller that his father.
Even Kate is taller than Charles. But it looks
like she may be wearing high heeled shoes.

That’s really a very poorly set up photograph. Unless William had just spilled something on his pants. Photographer should have stepped to his right a foot or two as well. Presumably they wanted the painting in the scene, but they should have lightened it up a bit so it would be recognizable if so.
