The royal beekeeper - in an arcane tradition thought to date back centuries - has informed the hives kept in the grounds of Buckingham Palace and Clarence House of the Queen’s death.
And the bees have also been told, in hushed tones, that their new master is now King Charles III.
The official Palace beekeeper, John Chapple, 79, told MailOnline how he travelled to Buckingham Palace and Clarence House on Friday following news of The Queen’s death to carry out the superstitious ritual.
He placed black ribbons tied into bows on the hives, home to tens of thousands of bees, before informing them that their mistress had died and that a new master would be in charge from now on.
He then urged the bees to be good to their new master - himself once famed for talking to plants.
The strange ritual is underpinned by an old superstition that not to tell them of a change of owner would lead to the bees not producing honey, leaving the hive or even dying.

I love the Brits.
It’s just another of the quirky old things that makes their culture and history so fascinating.
HA! Aren’t you smart & quick!
“I thought that was just an old Southern tradition!”
Fascinating!
“Ya can’t fix stupid.” - Ron White.
Well that really took the sting out of it
Just saw where Lady Campbell said the Queen had bone cancer. It makes what Harry did despicable. Didnt even want to go visit her in Scotland.
Lady C also said that Meghan pulled some kind of stunt today. Rumor is she planned to do own walkabout with US camera crew...Prince William caught wind of it...and made them go all together but Harry was only suppose to view flowers not greet crowd.
Sure is a lot of drama right now
If true on her health situation that does make things of the last 2 years even more pathetic. If Harry and Meghan knew of the Queen’s health problems then their actions are even worse than they were. To bring that kind of pettiness and hate down on this woman was wrong. I hope is Charles is less forgiving in this.
A lot of people are pointing out that the royal line of succession was updated and Harry’s kids do not have the Prince and Princess title. So Charles may have nixed it.
This may be why there are so many rumors right now that Meghan wants people to think she is pregnant. the next kid is automatically a Prince because Charles is now King
I watched some of the walkabout. kate looked angry to me which fits in with lady c saying Meghan pulled some kind of stunt
I think she also said they are getting professional help in trying to deal with Meghan. not sure what kind of professional help. Maybe someone to tell them how to deal with a raging narcissist
the clip of an exchange between Markle and the William’s PR guy has gone viral. she seems to courtsey to him after seemingly telling him off

the funniest clip of the day was the lady in blue as Meghan is walking by. I suspect meghan got a lot of that today

btw, bone cancer is very painful. It is remarkable that a 96 year old woman with bone cancer was standing and doing her duty with the Prime Ministers two days before she died.
Is there a King Bee?
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I needed this gut wrenching laugh today!!!!!!!!!!!
You bee grumpy?
Official beekeeper has too much time on his hands. Wonder how much the UK taxpayers pay for his salary?
It was a joke.
The Ravens were duly informed of the Queen’s passing. Their collective reply was “ never more”.
so one of the Me-Again kids is going to have the title of Master.
Isn’t it Ironic
The Ravens of the Tower of London are a group of at least six captive ravens resident at the Tower of London. Their presence is traditionally believed to protect the Crown and the Tower; a superstition holds that "if the Tower of London ravens are lost or fly away, the Crown will fall and Britain with it.
Some historians, including the Tower's official historian, believe the "Tower's raven mythology is likely to be a Victorian flight of fantasy".
The earliest known reference to captive ravens at the Tower is an illustration from 1883. Historically, wild ravens were common throughout Britain, even in towns; the Tower was within their natural range. When they were exterminated from much of their traditional range, including London, they could only exist at the Tower in captivity and with official support.
The Tower ravens are tended to by the Ravenmaster of the Yeomen Warders. Local legend puts the origin of the captive raven population at the time of King Charles II (reigned 1660–85)
