EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more
Another card in the mail today, this time with a Pony car stamp! Yay!!
I probably better get busy and start to answer them all. My bad.
It’s okay: it’s just my stream of consciousness! I got the stamps thinking of you.
I’ve drive US50 from Dodge City, KS across to Sacramento, CA. It’s a scenic drive, but it’s two-lanes most all the way, so there’s always folks itching to pass, and it gets awfully remote in some places.
You might consider going up to St. Lou and taking I-70 if interstate speeds aren’t an issue. Set the Cruise Control to match the truckers and it’s almost like you’re standing still. Just pick a rig, match its speed, and keep far enough back that you can see the driver’s side mirror.
I-70 goes all the way across to I-15 about 120mi south of Provo. Plus, US50 and I-70 are one and the same all the way to there from Grand Junction, CO.
Once you hit I-15, you’ll be in pretty familiar environs.
Good morning. Happy Twosday!
It’s cold here. It was 28 when I woke up and it’s down to 15 now. I woke up about 4:45 when the motor in the heater started squealing. The maintenance guy came out around 5:30 to lube it - he’ll get a little extra in his Christmas stocking for coming out. If it were just me I could have let the motor squeal, but Mrs. ArGee is concerned the Princess’ anxiety will trigger a seizure so we try to keep things calm.
No seizure. It’s been 3 weeks since the last one. So that’s good.
I don’t know whether it was the word or my being up 45 minutes earlier than normal, but I got a 6 today. Oh, well. At least my 5’s didn’t gain any ground on my 3’s.

For some reason, I don’t feel like driving I-40 again. That is the most stressful drive I’ve taken since we went to Chicago from Waukegan, when my son was a tiny baby. We went to Memphis in March, and I’ve only ever had two kinds of headaches until that day. I don’t want to make that trip again!
Yeah, I’m familiar with I-70. I’ve been over it several times, as well as I-80. Comes out at Cove Fort, north of Beaver.
I’m still a long way from actual travel plans, but those things are very good to know. I appreciate the time you’ve taken to tell me.
And FYI, tell Mrs. HK that I’ll be in the same complex I was in before, just a different apartment!
I need that floofy little face! Thanks!
Good morning. I hope you had a good night.
FS sent a text yesterday saying he would be done with this job today so we could have a Movie Day after. He’ll be done around 1400, but I that’s only about an hour earlier than usual, so I told him to text me when he was done and let me know how he feels. He gets pretty tired after a day’s work, mostly because of his heart.
Meanwhile, I’ll just carry on like I had good sense.
I dreamed of flood waters last night. Not a good omen, even though the waters were calm. But my sister was in the dream, and my Real Brother was in a dream a couple of nights ago. So I guess I don’t have to worry about the flood waters. Siblings trump it. ;o]
Good Tuesday morning, Epople!
It’s so hard to not try to out-think the thinkers in this game.
I by-passed a word in favor of a couple less common and ended up with another Foursie, which are way ahead of whatever is second.
I’m glad “They” give us six tries, anyway.

Sorry about your early reveille. Some days, it goes like that.
Until you are aware of what triggers the seizures, you’re probably best to keep the anxiety-makers down to a minimum. I have to agree with Mrs ArGee on that.
Good job on your Wordle. It beats the dreaded X/6!
Good Tuesday Morn!
I’ve bypassed words for others and got jammed up in some games too, ‘Face.
Today luck was with me and I was able to close the 3s and 5s gap by one more...

At least my 5βs didnβt gain any ground on my 3βs.
That is a good way to see it!
And you avoided the dreaded X/6!

Good job!
Like I said earlier: You win some, you lose some and some get rained out.
My fours are going to rule unless I get REALLY busy on the threes and fives!
I’m pretty certain that my 4s will always be far in the lead...
I think if they did Wordle this way it would be a par 4 game.

Agreed!
juvenile Bald Eagle...white head feathers and yellow beak appear after 5 yrs.
What a wonderful visitor! Thanks for that!
How have you been? You’ve been on my mind lately, so I’m hoping it poked you a bit! ;o]
Yep, I have to agree with you two. I think they expect mostly fours, which is why they select the words they do.
Bwahahahahahaha!
