While I’ve been getting regular flu shots for six decades I skipped the last two years. There’s no way I trust the farma dirt bagz to not mix in weird stuff. Remember early on in the ceebug they said they were going to combine shots. As a card carrying pure blood I’ll be trusting my natural resistance to keep me healthy for the duration.
In my growing up years I always caught a cold soon after school started. Some drooling, drippy kid would come in sneezing and made sure we all caught the same krap he/she/it had. I learned that and after I got out of school I didn’t catch anything for a couple of years. Then a guy with a couple of young kids came to work with us and in his first year he spread the same snot to the rest of us. The second year and forever more I instructed him to stay the bleep away from me after school started. That was about five decades ago and since then I’ve had maybe two colds.
So I have a low tolerance for sneezing, dripping, barking, puking. runny eyed, butt dragging, nose wipers, watch for them, and keep them away from me. A lot of people depend on me so I’m not interested in being shut down because of an unsanitary dumbass. And I’m not suewecidal so I’ll be skipping gummint shots now and forever.

I too have studied certain topics of operations research in depth, and made them a central part of some significant businesses where I had an executive role. These included queueing theory and graph theory; however, when I read pure game theory books and articles it always impresses me as sterile academics.
Based upon the thoughtful posts of yourself (spokeshave) and Sobieski at Kahlenberg Mtn., maybe I should take another look sometime.
(Such as in the event I am put in charge of nuclear war strategy. :) )

I am really wondering because a friend may do a contracted gig for a while that requires a flu shot. Friend did not get vaxed, knows all about the horrors, but would be willing to get a “regular” flu shot. But not a blend or one with RNA stuff.

Thank you for the details. All the more reason not to get a flu shot (I never have). Last shot I had was when I was 10.
I was vocal about it with my family, acquaintances, and work associates. Those of us in Health Care were offered those shots first, even before those senior citizens.
Hubby and I were nixed from visiting at Christmas 2 years ago because we were nor vaxxed even though a couple of my sisters are also RNs. All of them got vaxxed and then all of them got covid a time or two. I have no filter and laugh every time I hear another one gets it.

Well, Sobieski, that just about nails the reason I first became a Trump supporter in 2015. This is what I hoped for and this is what I got.
Beyond that, I really feel the need to clarify that my drive-by of PhDs relates to academics and those who contribute academic-like "guidance" to government or business, and NOT those who are fully engaged in technology development or real-world business issues.
I really stepped in that one a bit, since one of my long-time business partners is a Math PhD, and together we did some extremely successful things in business including optimization models for complex systems that were at the core of our physical business operations.
However, I have also seen businesses that collect PhDs whose academic efforts at approaching real-world decisions are beyond lame.

Lol, same here. I’m pretty healthy overall but since I flat out refused the COVID vax my doctor said to get the flu shot because I didn’t want flu and COVID together with my asthma.
