Trump discusses Game Theory is his books and his business experience includes some of the most wretched sectors in society the mafia, NYC zoning, construction and trade unions, television production, et al. He doesn’t strike me as someone who would just take “game theory” and use it. He’d use it as long as it gave him an advantage. Same in politics. As a businessman he has a mindset and tool box that the DC hive is clueless about. His version of game theory is one of his many tools. Now given the length of time he has been in the political limelight he may not use the same weapons or tools that he did when he first started. Being one’s own boss in a successfully run business arms him with the tools and mindset that allow him to run circles around career politicians and government bureaucrats.

Well, Sobieski, that just about nails the reason I first became a Trump supporter in 2015. This is what I hoped for and this is what I got.

Beyond that, I really feel the need to clarify that my drive-by of PhDs relates to academics and those who contribute academic-like "guidance" to government or business, and NOT those who are fully engaged in technology development or real-world business issues.

I really stepped in that one a bit, since one of my long-time business partners is a Math PhD, and together we did some extremely successful things in business including optimization models for complex systems that were at the core of our physical business operations.

However, I have also seen businesses that collect PhDs whose academic efforts at approaching real-world decisions are beyond lame.
