I have tinnitus.A few years ago I was evaluated by an ENT specialist at a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital. He said that tinnitus is often a sign of hearing loss...which was confirmed in my case when I had a full hearing test. The doctor said that tinnitus is typically caused by the part of the brain that handles sound “turning up the volume” because it's not receiving signals as strong as it's accustomed to receiving.

I have tinnitus and sometimes it bothers me more than other times. I have it right now, but somehow I’m managing to not pay attention to it. I notice it most often when it’s pretty quiet. Soft music in the background seems to help.

I can’t wait. I’ve never known silence my whole life.

My tinnitus went away when I finally stopped taking ibuprofen (Motrin) to help me get to sleep.

I can make it start again just by taking two ibuprofen.

My tinnitus is pretty bad and it gets worse whenever I drink caffeine. Coffee is my weakness.

“de-emphasizes the sound of the tinnitus to a background noise that has no meaning or relevance to the listener”

Like most of the people yammering around me, just noise.

As far as tinnitus, mine has slowly changed over the years from ringing to white noise mostly. There is never lust silence, always the rushing noise like traffic in the distance.

My audiologist pronounces it “tinnitus” but i can’t tell if I’m hearing it right.

I had tinnitus. It went away after a couple months of the carnivore diet.

Sounds like good news.
I’ve had longstanding tinnitus which got permanently worse after my first COVID shot.

There is no cure for tinnitus, and there never will be... Get over it. Your ears ring and they will ring until the day you die and the sooner you stop obsessing over it, the better off you will be.

I listened to examples of tinnitus and I really feel for anyone who has it. This site gives examples of the sounds.

So… what is a digital polytherapeutic? Does a doctor drive nails through your eardrums or sumthin?

I know this may sound a bit out there, but I have experienced mild tinnitus over the past year or so. My better half did some research and came up with a treatment for me that has worked. I started taking cell salts - #7 Kali Sulph and #12 Silicea. Four small tablets under the tongue a couple of times a day for about a week. The reduction of phantom noise was almost immediate. If it comes back, I start taking them again. Do your own research.....YMMV
