My tinnitus started about 2 years ago and isn't too, too bad - yet. However, I was given a pair of Apple AirPods which I wear watching tv while on my rowing machine for 30 minutes each day. I hear no ringing/roar while wearing them.
Hope you can try a pair and pray that they may help you as well!

When I’m talking on the phone or listening to music or a book I certainly don’t notice it as much. Is that basically what the therapy is, masking the ringing?
