Dutch farmers are fighting for nothing less than the survival of modern agriculture as such.
Over the past few months, thousands of Dutch farmers have blocked highways and staged protests. Hundreds have been arrested, and one was even shot at by a police officer. Dutch farmers have been protesting in the streets on and off since 2019.
Why are the farmers so outraged? They’re fighting for nothing less than the survival of modern agriculture as such. In the name of “sustainability” and fighting “pollution,” Green activists are trying to do to agriculture what they have been doing to the power grid and the oil and gas industry. In the name of highly questionable environmental goals, Green activists want to destroy the ability of farms to produce high-quality, abundant, clean, and inexpensive food.
Although the Netherlands has a population of 17 million and is only slightly larger than the U.S. state of Maryland, it is the second-largest agricultural exporter in the world after the United States. Dutch farms produce enormous quantities of beef, pork, dairy products and many other agricultural goods that are sold all over Europe and the world. The Dutch can produce so much food in such a small country thanks to the application of technology to farming methods. Dutch farms are perhaps the most advanced in the world. Thanks to the latest technology, Dutch food is not only plentiful but also inexpensive, efficient, and clean without sacrificing quality.
Green activists claim that this agriculture produces too much pollution and thus must be drastically reduced. At the behest of the European Union and Green groups, the Dutch government is imposing a plan to reduce nitrogen oxide and ammonia pollution by 50% by 2030. I have been following the Dutch Farmers through postings on GETTR. It is unbelievable what they are going through. They are taking the fight to the globalist there as well as Germany and Italy farmers supporting them.
This. If people would just stop complying, stop apologizing for being “politically incorrect” and bowing to the regime in DC, we would be a stronger nation. It will be up to the states to act separately and together to oppose these green nuts. I’m glad I live in Florida. I don’t think DeSantis will go for attacks on our farmers and from the DC crowd.
I’m concerned. In fact I’m very concerned about all of the nefarious events occurring in this great country and around the world.

I think that ship has sailed. The truckers already decided not to take any action, beyond parades.
The Feds would probably just declare martial law and take their trucks or force them to drive, anyway. The urban hives must be fed!
The book, “Atlas Shrugged”, had a “happy” although creepy ending where people wake up in time to the tyranny enslaving them. The nation is already far more dependent on government than when that book was written.

NOT MY STORY STOLE IT FROM Doug Holm For those of you that think electric vehicles are the answer- this is a true story from a farmer in the Midwest- and I’m reposting it- A close friend farms over 10,000 acres of corn in the midwest. The property is spread out over 3 counties. His operation is a “partnership farm” with John Deere. They use the larger farm operations as demonstration projects for the promotion and development of new equipment. He recently received a phone call from his John Deere representative, and they want the farm to go to electric tractors and combines in 2023. He currently has 5 diesel combines that cost $900,000 each that are traded in every 3 years. Also, over 10 really BIG tractors. JD wants him to go all-electric soon. He said: “Ok, I have some questions. How do I charge these combines when they are 3 counties away from the shop in the middle of a cornfield, in the middle of nowhere?” “How do I run them 24 hours a day for 10 or 12 days straight when the harvest is ready, and the weather is coming in?” “How do I get a 50,000+ lb. combine that takes up the width of an entire road back to the shop 20 miles away when the battery goes dead?” There was dead silence on the other end of the phone. When the corn is ready to harvest, it has to have the proper sugar and moisture content. If it is too wet, it has to be put in giant dryers that burn natural or propane gas, and lots of it. Harvest time is critical because if it degrades in sugar content or quality, it can drop the value of his crop by half a million dollars or more. It is analyzed at the time of sale. It is standard procedure to run these machines 10 to 12 days straight, 24 hours a day at peak harvest time. When they need fuel, a tanker truck delivers it, and the machines keep going. John Deere’s only answer is “we’re working on it.” They are being pushed by the lefty Dems in the government to force these electric machines on the farmer. These people are out of control. They are messing with the production of food crops that feed people and livestock... all in the name of their “green dream.” Look for the cost of your box of cornflakes to triple in the next 24 months...”
