Simple poll. Show of hands. Should we be involved or not involved in the Russia/Ukraine War?
Yes, that was my intention.
The Koreans War was bloody. So we settled for a cease fire. The South Korean government did not collapse. Unlike South Vietnam.
You and Princess? What's her contribution?
Thanks for the ping!
Please keep me on the ping list.
Gotcha. Done.
What did the Koreans in the north get out of it ?
No, myself and another FReeper. You don’t know him.
You’re welcome. You’ve got it.
Sucks for them. Have to look at the time though. It was an ideological struggle and the Soviets were trying to spread their ideology everywhere. Of course, we had to counter them. The world was very different in 1950 and communism was a fad.
How does that compare to $4.50 per gallon gas here?
US Per Capita Income: $19,306
Russian Per Capita Income: $5,504
Source
Why should you or I give a rats rear end what the Per Capita Income is in Russia?
When I was stationed in the Azores, Portugal the per capita income of the subsistence farmers on the island was one hundred dollars per year. What should we have done about that? Nothing! Just what we should do for the Ukraine! Nothing!
thanks for the survey
it is a relief that 91% recognize that the war is a deep state operation
I am curious what the numbers would poll outside of Free Republic
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Problem is that you’re comparing two different situations. Too many misguided individuals think we’re still fighting the Soviets. That’s dead. The real enemy is Red China and the Globalist Derp State. It isn’t Russia.
We need to be taking down the globalists and hemming in Red China. We need the help of Russia to do the latter, not trying to poke them to start a nuclear war, which will only benefit Red China.
I’d like to think a majority of folks were sane on this. Telling them where those billions are REALLY going to and that sending serious military hardware or troops could trigger an all-out war with Russia would certainly scare any fence-sitters to sobriety.
Because if you are trying to ascertain the relative conditions of living in Russia compared to the USA and somebody uses the price of gasoline as their measure it is necessary to consider how much that gallon of gasoline costs relative to how much money the people in the country have to spend.
That's a basic principle of doing comparisons.
I hope you would agree that if you want to compare the standard of living of the subsistence farmers in the Azores compared to people in the USA you need to consider not just the prices of goods in both countries but how much money people earn.
Nothing in the posts has anything to do with "doing" anything about the differences in economic conditions.
Maybe after Putin. But I doubt it. Russia will be Russia. A nationalist is likely to succeed Putin. And he would be unlikely to work with the West. Their interests rarely align with ours (except in both World Wars).
Porn. Porn will fix everything.
When I was in Russia, I had an idea to produce a reality show/soap opera/porn series entitled “Moscow Party Girls”.
So many hotties. I miss them.
too many folks believe the propaganda
What they cannot ignore is the rising cost of living, empty shelves at the stores, and rising crime.
Perhaps they will begin to despise all the attention given to Ukraine while our quality of life is tanking.
