I don’t remember Aliens.
Maybe they erased my memory?

I’m thinking the refrigerator didn’t help either.

The movie could've been great - the concept of a cold war period piece with genuine Soviets as the bad guys, and Indie reunited with Marion Ravenwood...so much wasted potential.
And whoever cast Shia Lebouef as a greaser tough guy should be fired, blacklisted and keel hauled.

The whole movie was a mistake.

The reason we liked the first one was because of the historical and spiritual significance of a very real archaeological treasure, the Ark of the Covenant, although dramatic license was in play. God’s power triumphing over evil never gets old.
When they resorted to aliens, that wasn’t nearly as interesting for real archaeological story-telling.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was such a memorable movie that I don’t even recall there was an alien part to it.

The CGI stunts are what clinched it for me. No sense danger. Compare it to the truck chase in ROTLA. It just looks too safe!

Something I learned from reading Peter Hopkirk's The Great Game was that in the later part of the 19th century there were isolated kingdoms in the high mountains of Central Asia much like what is portrayed in the Temple of Doom movie.

The book is an excellent read.

Lol. Aliens were hardly more outlandish than the rest of the movie.

The Aliens weren’t a problem.
Commies instead of Nazis weren’t a problem
Indy having a son wasn’t a problem (though I didn’t like the actor)
it was awful cgi and idiotic action set pieces that were a problem.

Crystal Skulls felt like a Roger Corman movie.

I honestly thought, in keeping with the religious nature of the first three movies, that the big reveal would be that the “aliens” were actually demons. I was expecting them to change form and go from blue to red, kind of like Raiders, and then the spaceship was revealed. I remember saying out loud in the theater, “Are you freaking kidding me?”
After the refrigerator scene, and swinging with the CGI monkeys, it was just too much.

The first and third are my favorites. Sean Connery should have had another Oscar for that one.

Crystal Skulls had aliens in it????
I must have fallen asleep each time I tried to watch it.
Some parts were OK but Shia LeBoob is such a jerk I couldn’t stand to watch it now.
