Democrats passed laws called "Black Codes," which included taking guns away from Blacks.
The Democrat Legislature of North Carolina passed a Black Code, published in 1825: "No slave shall go armed with gun, sword, club, or other weapon, or shall keep any such weapon, or shall hunt or range with a gun in the woods, upon any pretence whatsoever: and if any slave shall be found offending herein, it shall and may be lawful for any person or persons to seize and take to his own use, such gun, sword, or other weapon, and to apprehend and deliver such slave to the next constable, who is enjoined and required without further order or warrant, to give such slave twenty lashes on his or her bare back, and to send him or her home; and the master."
The Democrat Legislature of Alabama passed a Black Code in 1833:
"Section 7. No slave shall keep or carry any gun, powder, shot, club, or other weapon whatsoever, offensive or defensive ...
Every gun, weapon, or ammunition, found in the possession or custody of any slave, may be seized by any person ...
Every such offender shall receive, by order of such justice, any number of lashes not exceeding thirty-nine, on his bare back."
The Democrat Legislature of Mississippi passed a Black Code in 1865:
"No freedman, Negro, or mulatto shall carry or keep firearms or ammunition."

Wow! Those Commucrats have always loved their gun control, especially when their slaves get off the plantation and start acting like they are actually law abiding American citizens.

Just as bad if not worse than the Democrats. Illinois black codes allowed blacks to be sold into slavery, they prohibited black people from relocating to Illinois, and a whole host of other odious stipulations.
Other northern states also created horrible "black codes."

Great observation! Instead of white sheets, the gun grabbers will be wearing black tactical gear, but still working for the Commucrat Party, just as their ancestors did.
The Oregon Constitution, written in 1859, had such laws enshrined into it. The bulk of them, after many initiative petition attempts, were finally repealed in the 1930’s, but a decade or two ago there was another round to take care of portions that were overlooked the first time. IIRC—they still missed a few things even that round.

It’s not the fault of NRA or Conservative Republicans that black people murder, rape and rob their fellow citizens. Rather it is the fault of the “black community”, black culture, liberal/leftist policies, generational welfare / government dependent, public schooling and plain simple laziness.
Our nation’s founders should have picked their own damn cotton and left the ancestors of today’s negros in Africa. That place is a veritable sh!thole and the perfect place for Obama’s sons.

On Steven Crowder's show this morning he cited that in 2017 32% of black households own firearms but today 50.5% of black households have firearms.
As for the the high violent crime statistics that apply to the "black community" those crimes are committed by a small percentage of all blacks.

He mentions that his father also owned a .22 rifle and a shotgun, though, that the police never questioned because everyone had them for hunting. They only wanted to find the pistol.
Judging from life in New Orleans these regulations make a great deal of sense. There is no group that has done less and caused more trouble.

I remember talking to a gun dealer back in 1968 Little Rock Arkansas. His store had been broken into and the only thing stolen were .22 pistols.
He knew that blacks did it as they were only allowed .22 single shot hunting rifles.
