Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

I’m up. So are the cats.
“Fill my bowl, now!”
I went back to bed. The longer I was up the worse I was feeling.
So not it’s up and at ‘em.
That’s okay. Whatever you’re supposed to be “at” can wait!
Good Memorial Day Morning!
Hoping that everyone is enjoying the weekend...
Sort of an unusual one for today:

Thanks, I moved a few things around and sat back down again. I’ll get up and move a few more things around in a few minutes. The hard part of my day is over with.
I have the front door open for some fresh air before it gets too ugly out.
Today is Memorial Day, so...

Great minds! Mine was a little slower but amazing you!! Good job!! ;o])
Thanks!!
I can’t figure out how I did it, but I’ll take it! :o]
It was your brain!
Back from the Lake Park Memorial Day Observance, which was very nice as always. Someone was taking video with a drone and dropped it Plop! right in the center of the pond. Maybe someone will bring a canoe or raft so he can paddle out and try to pick it up ;-).
And now, back to chopping celery, of which the people who buy things without seeing whether we already have it bought way too much.
That was actually pretty stupendous!
You mean I have one??? :oO
I’m sorry, but I LOL’d about the drone!
The missionary sisters were supposed to come by today before their transfers to other states, but they haven’t shown up. So I decided to try and get the bed made.
The A/C has already kicked on, so I’m going to have to check with the utility company and see if I’m in for sticker shock.
No idea what I’ll eat today, but still leaning towards chili.
The guest speaker, a Marine Gunnery Sergeant who is the brother-in-law of one of the Lake Park town council members and visiting, I guess, make a joke about the drone.
I steamed the chopped celery for a few minutes and then put it in bags of two cups each in the freezer for future use.
I think we’re having chicken. We didn’t have it yesterday because it wasn’t thawed. Meanwhile, quite a lot of leftovers have been eaten.
As soon as I started on the bed there was a knock on the door.
So, they came and went and will be leaving tomorrow for their new missions in other states. One has a year to go and one has nine months, unless they’ve changed the time limits. It used to be 18 months for females, two years for males, but they change it up when circumstances call for it. Like Covid.
My freezer isn’t as big as I want it to be, and certainly not as big as the one in Hurricane, so I have to be careful what I buy.
I get my delivery from Walmart too early to get their rotisserie chicken, so I may have to change things up and get it from Kroger.
