Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Yes, indoor lodging is good! I loved camping, but I absolutely adored it big time when we became campground hosts and bought our first RV. Yepper! The best of both worlds.
Yes, Jake needs his claws trimmed for lots of reasons and the first one is safety!
Jake hated it, but oh well.
I’m caught up on Cub Scouts paperwork and almost ready with Sunday’s music pages. Then it will be naptime.
I’ve got a major case of the S-L-O-W-S today, but I have to shorten my talk. I managed to get a couple of things done but the fatigue is taking all the fun out of life. Maybe I need a nap, too!
I got the music project done. Maybe I’ll go to Walmart after nap. We need apples and printer paper.

So Tyson is now picking up hitchhikers? LOL!
I got the talk almost done. I’m not going to stress about the extra 38 seconds. It’s not great, just cobbled together from other ones, but it will do.
I would love to have a nap. Too late in the day, now, and I’d never be able to sleep tonight. So I’ll just fight it for the next five hours. Unngh. The fatigue is at its worst.

Yeah, but it got away. Bailed off the paper on the way to the outside door.
It’s somewhere in the hall carpet now.
I don’t know if I mentioned that the lock on the door is getting harder and harder to seat. I figured out that it’s the threshold. When it was replaced, the wrong kind was used and the door has been slowly sagging on the hinges.
A doorstop would be nice to have but it got appropriated in Henderson, so I need to get a new one to act as a lift until the threshold can be replaced. In the meantime, I’m using a hairbrush handle. Flat, wooden and allows the lock bolt to seat properly.
All I can say is, I better not die any time in the next 10 years because I want to enjoy all the things I’ve had to work so hard to get since I’ve been here!

That one took me five as well, using the same method I used on my first one a few days ago.
I’m noticing a little pattern on the Icelandic one. I’ll see if it continues tomorrow.
I had no idea... can’t recall ever pitching a tent on a ‘tent pad.’
I haven’t tried the one from Iceland yet.
