Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Back from Walmart, and this is about the time they’re texting me to tell me they’ll be “leaving in about 15 minutes,” only to show up an hour later.
Clear aisles, two check stands open and almost fully stocked shelves! YES!
FS will come a little later to take my stuff to the thrift store, so I’ll be one step closer to getting settled in!

I worked on the talk this morning, then FS and PW came to gather up the batch of stuff for donation, and suddenly, I have room in my kitchen area for a little table! Maybe I can get it built while FS is lallygagging in Europe for the next three weeks!
Maybe I can even get the little bookcases put together! Gloriosky! What a deal!

Did Walmart and the thrift shop go well? I met a friend for coffee earlier and ran a couple of errands. It is HOT out today!
Walmart went well because it was early, but we had to wait for the thrift shop. It was just to drop off donations, and they didn’t need me for that, so they took my stuff and left. I had to clean the floor as the place where the donations sat has been covered with stuff since I moved in. LOL!
They’ll be leaving for Europe next Saturday, and even though I’ll have my son’s truck, I probably won’t go to Walmart. Probably not anywhere except to Kroger, because it’s not my vehicle. I want something smaller!
So I’ll probably get Walmart delivery while they’re gone.
We’re back. The First Communion party was fine. Mexican food! DP was giving career advice to Rafaela’s two sons, one of whom is the father of the granddaughter.
