Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

When I am in a Waco H-E-B, I like to talk to random Baylor students... ask them about their classes... majors... campus life.... how they like living in Waco...
Most of them are pretty much tilted back on their heels trying to figure out why this old Texas dude is talking to them in a supermarket.... It can be fun!

LOL - Keep ‘em on their toes! I do find most of them to be decent, polite kids.
That H-E-B just off the Circle has great stuff, but it’s always a zoo. I only go there about once a month to get stuff I can’t get anywhere else.

The thing I loved about Del Rio was the meat I got at H-E-B. I’ve never been able to find meat as good, before or since. And that was 20 years ago.
Yes, they still mostly have pretty good meats... but quite a bit more pricey now days....

We’re off to another uneventful week here. Well, relatively uneventful. F-i-l wants to insist on going to see m-i-l get her blood pressure taken, which will surely elevate it. But that’s not until Friday. On Thursday the Princess will get her ultrasound and we can see if they spot anything obviously wrong with her liver. But for now, all is well.

Goodness. I got that way when the cataracts were bad. I’m glad I had them removed.
M-i-l can’t really hear, but insists she can take her BP with her old stethoscope and sphygmomanometer. When Mrs. ArGee tried to take it with our machine last time f-i-l got extremely agitated. We think it’s because he fears there might be something wrong with her and he might have to become a bachelor again. Naturally, the readings are a little abnormal.
At this point we’re going with, “She doesn’t have a blood pressure problem but you won’t be able to measure that at the Dr. Office.” We’ll see how that goes.
