Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

We have a list of financial items we’re trying to close out with the in-laws. But back when CapitalOne sold their GM card to whoever that was, they charged my in-laws a 7 cent fee on a bill that was paid within the grace period. So we paid the 7 cents, then cancelled the card. They got a free one to replace it and life was good.
Low and behold, the statement came in the next month with the 7 cent fee refunded AND the 7 cent check credited, so now they owed him 7 cents. I called them and said that they could keep the 7 cents just don’t send any more mail because we’ve cancelled the account. They assured me we’d get no more mail.
But we got more mail so I called again. The woman promised to take care of it. A refund check for 7 cents came (in the mail).
So that’s taken care of, but it was not on our list.
Good morning! And congratulations on your third three in a row, ‘Face!

Beautiful cat, sorry that you lost him...
Considering all I’ve heard about the James’ hair, it may need to be “furry and/or otherwise.”
My daughter and her husband lost his therapy cat in a freak accident a few weeks ago. That silly cat would have nothing to do with me, but he would salute my son-in-law and do all kinds of tricks for him. Favorite Daughter and her hubby were inconsolable.
Never let anyone try to shame you out of your grieving process. It will most likely last a good long while. Just roll with it.
Exactly what I told my Favorite Son!
Good job!!
I would have been happy with anything! (Except the X/6, and I still would have taken it!)
YAY!
Good job!
Very sad story. (I think all cats are therapy cats! I envision petting them when having my blood pressure taken, and I think it might work.)
The Binxx was S-i-L’s PTSD cat, and it worked wonders on a guy who had never been around cats. Needless to say, he’s still devastated, but with two kittens to pick up the slack, he may heal eventually. Bonding? May be another thing altogether.
Somewhere in my paperwork, I have a letter from a doctor that says I need a cat for my blood pressure. I don’t have a cat at the moment but soon. :o])
Too bad we can’t take them to the doctor’s office...
Excellent choice, and nice to see you!
Wowser! Yes, it is an excellent choice!
None shall pass!

What is your Quest?
What is your favorite color?
What is the typical tensile strength of AR500 steel with a Brinell of 477-534?
Good ones!! LOL!
It’s a thing... I actually made some targets out of AR500 steel. Worked great on everything under a certain ME value and non-steel cored.
Turns out Soviet surplus rifle ammo is frequently steel cored.
Ooops.
