Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

w00t!
Thanks! It was a surprise, considering the insomnia hit again.
I hope it means I’m on the way out of this relapse. I’m dying to get something done! It’s hard to force myself to just sit, when I see the building chaos around me. So-to-speak.
Sometimes, God just wants us to wait and allow things to happen. For as long as it takes.
Intellectually, I know and understand that. Mentally and emotionally, it’ a pain in the Astor Bar.
Now, I think I’ll go get out of my jammies. BRB!
I agree.
I need to get Frank up and see if he’s feeling okay today. He’s supposed to go to “Nerf War” with some of his friends.
Wellnow.
Mona just called, in tears, saying she was in the hospital in Searcy, and didn’t want me to think she just wasn’t going to show up for our “date” at the shelter. She was in so much pain! Bless her heart. Appendicitis. But I guess it’s considered “Day Surgery” now, so she should be home in a day or two. She usually stays with Darren (sp?) after a stress of some kind.
She just had surgery on her rotator cuff! Poor gal!
In a flash, things change.
The theology around trusting God has been interesting.
When I was growing up the Episcopalians used to say, “Pray as if everything depended on God, work as if everything depended on you.”
The Calvinists say, “God is sovereign. His plans will unfold.” I’ve never understood why they ever plan anything. But they do.
Keith Green said, “Just keep doing your best/Pray that it’s blessed/He’ll take care of the rest.”
Jesus said, “Don’t worry about tomorrow. The cares of the day are enough for you.” (paraphrase)
I’ll go with the latter.
Poor Mona! Didn’t your daughter-in-law have her appendix out recently? I’ve never known anyone - that I’m aware of - who had appendicitis. I hope Mona makes a quick recovery!
Happy Thursday!
Seems to be a trend today.

I get confused if I think about things too much.
Patrick is taking a Covid test to see if he can go to work today. I had to read the Spanish directions to him because Tom threw away the English directions.
I did have friends stop by for a drink and then we went out for dinner. And I received some nice gifts in the mail from my two sisters and a close friend. So it was a good day. :D
That’s a lovely blue-eyed kitty!
Yes, PW had her appendix out about six weeks before they left for Europe. It was day surgery, and she was back to her mischief in three days, so Mona should be fine by Monday. She was scared and in pain when she called, so I did my best to reassure her. It would have been better had I been there, but she’ll be OK.
My late step-son, Dennis had appendicitis when we lived in the Bay Area a bazillion years ago. We took him to the emergency room and they gave him Mylanta and sent him home. We took him back the next day, and they rushed him into surgery. He was moments away from the appendix bursting. The on-call doc this time was extremely angry with the one from the day before.
Dennis lost about two weeks of work, but only because he didn’t know he was sick and neither did the first doc. It’s not a pretty thing to witness. Especially in a grown man.
I trust God implicitly. He knows all things from the Beginning, so who am I to second-guess Him? ;o]
On the internet, I’m a mere 21. 😁
Aww…sending up a prayer for Mona. 🙏
Doctors, unfortunately, get stuff wrong.
