Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Rough work though, since I eliminate all the vowels in the first row, one way or the other.
Jake’s infection site is oozing, but the antibiotics should make a big difference in the next 24 hours. He keeps using his paw to wash it, which is kind of gross, but I suppose the bacteria are no worse than what’s in his teeth and gums.
“Cleaning” it will probably make it worse, unless the antibiotic is industrial strength.
FS said the dentist told him to try and keep his tongue away from the extraction to prevent any problems with healing. I’m sure Jake’s wound is the same thing, only on the feline level.
One day this week, FS is going to take me to the thrift store so I can drop off some stuff. That will make it a little easier for me to maneuver in here. Gloriosky!
They picked me up and took me to the farmer’s market this morning before Walmart. I found some really dark honey, so I’ll try it in the next few days. The guy says he’s a beekeeper but doesn’t know what the bees feed on in the different seasons. Casey could tell me in a heartbeat!
Mostly, Jake is sleeping a lot, which is good for recovery. I hope you like the honey!
We’re having occasional downpours of rain.
I hope Jake heals quickly, and that he’s back to his ol’ cat self again soon.
It’s been sunny today but chilly, so I’ve been indoors. The birds are chirping away, though, just like they had good sense.
PW bought some lettuce at the farmer’s market this morning, and it brought back memories of when I was a short person. We had some just like it in our garden.
I prefer iceberg, though. I didn’t get any avocados or tomatoes while at Walmart, because I got distracted. It’s probably just as well because I just barely had time to sit down when I saw them coming out of the check stand lane they were in. Usually, I end up waiting for close to an hour for them. Ohwell.
I’ll have some toast and honey tomorrow. Just because it’s time.
It certainly is. DP and Tom were going to grill, but with the on-and-off pouring rain, they decided against it. James is cooking noodles.
I’d like to grill something but I have neither the thing nor the grill. So I’ll go take my last dose of pills of the day, have my little snack/supper and head for bed.

How is Jake this morning. Is he still sleeping it off? He must have taken quite a beating, poor ol’ guy.
I’ve been looking for a bread recipe for diabetic/keto and it is very difficult to find one that doesn’t have a ton of ingredients or doesn’t take half a day just to mix up. Unngh.
It was easier than most, but tomorrow’s will be rough.

I have not heard from Anoreth. However, I didn’t send out invitations, because I wasn’t planning anything. Sally usually turns up on a weekend, and I don’t know what inspired Bill!
Jake is doing okay this morning. It’s cloudy and kind of dim, so I haven’t gotten a good look at his face. He made Shannon angry by curling up on her sleeping bag.
