Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Good morning. Happy Monday!
I pulled a muscle running yesterday so I’m a bit of a gimp today. It must have messed with my brain, too, since I wasted 2 guesses not using letters I knew had to be there. Oh well.

Good morning.
I say that most days! LOL!
Good job!
😂
It keeps us on our toes...
Indeed!
I’ve heard of that, but I don’t get it. Don’t they pay for air conditioning?
Good Monday morning!
Another scorcher on tap for today. 🥵
Taking a break from the four-track.

Yes, they do pay for A/C but I shudder to think of what their electric bill is, since it’s frigid in their house all year round. They only time I was ever warm there was before FS married his PW. *shudder*
Good job!
Wish I had some of your heat and not so much humidity.
Nice!!
👍🏻
Cute. Sacked out, head on my pillow.
And then it started.
You've seen dogs chase dream rabbits? Paws twitch, maybe a leg or two twitching?
This was a full body gallop! Back arching, hips thrusting, front legs reaching, rear legs kicking, full sprint, went on for maybe half a minute!
I was so gobsmacked I watched in awe and didn't even think to video it until it was too late.
This explains much...see post #1,382 above.
Ash the greyhound used to have racing dreams like that, but she wasn’t in bed with us.
That’s not my idea of thriftiness!
I’m working on music for next Sunday and more Cub Scouts paperwork.
I’ve seen those on rare occasions, but that was before the days of the handheld computers/printer/fax/camera/phone/pager/wifi, etc.
By the time I would have found a camera, the dog would have been another dog-year older.
Mona just left. Her “minutes” are about an hour long, and I get ear fatigue very quickly. She means well, I guess, but dysfunctional families are not what I want for a steady diet.
The rest of the day is mine, unless FS wants to come and take me to Walgreen’s. It looks like the pain clinic won’t change to Kroger until my next appointment — in July. Unngh.
That reminds me, I need to call the podiatrist and get a refill on my ankle pill.
Speaking of rare occasions, we got a little rain last night, just enough to wet the deck and darken the soil.
No rain has been in the forecast for a month, and no more for the next 14 days of the 10 day forecast.
