Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Good point.
A tourist who wants to avoid crowds either needs to visit off-season or plan to visit lesser-known sites.
True dat!
So they’re there for the Jubilee?
If you want some fun interstate driving, take I-10 across the Atchafalaya.
Or you could take I-80 through the Iowa cornfields.
Snoooooooooore. I’ve done I-10.
No, I don’t think that even entered their minds. They’re there to visit Edd China (YouTube host) and spend some time in and around his shop.
I’d rather do I-80. I don’t like I-10 any better than I-40. In fact, I hate major freeways, and the first thing I learn when I move to a new area is how to take surface streets to get where I need to go. When I have a car, that is. ;o]
I’ve just cancelled all functions for the next month. Except those that are absolutely necessary. Like laundry and medical appointments.
That seems like a reasonable thing to do. If you need to give your well-being extra care, then that’s what you should do!
Glad to hear that they are enjoying the trip... especially the VW factory for your son!!
I think that they have been very challenging of late... 4 or 5 row solutions are good outings...
I was trying to ignore the symptoms, but they just didn’t get any better and I realized this morning that I’ve been pushing myself too hard since I moved here. When I’ve said this was the hardest move I’ve ever made, I wasn’t kidding. It’s taking its toll, and I can only hope a month is long enough.
So things will have to happen from here (this side of the computer screen) or they won’t be happening.
I’m just going to let things go on without me. They don’t need my supervision!
I’ll be shutting down in a few minutes so I hope you have a good night!
Thanks! I think they’re getting tired of being on the go with specific travel times to meet and they no doubt will be looking forward to their flight home.
I think I would rather have made three trips of a week each than one trip three weeks long. ;o]
Yes, I think the more people who play it, the more challenging it has become.
I hope you have a good night, too. I expect you’ll feel less stressed tomorrow just because you’ve made a decision not to keep wearing yourself out!
3 weeks of that would certainly exhaust me! More mentally than physically....
Good morning, everyone. Happy Twosday.
At some point late last week, F-I-L found out that his pants are more straight-legged than the pants of other men he sees. So we had some long conversations about tapered pants before Mrs. ArGee got the hint. She went to the department store and bought a couple of pairs of pants so he could figure out his size. He was in 7th heaven.
90 years old and thinking about fashion. I guess he’s still thinking “Every Girl’s Crazy ‘Bout a Sharp Dressed Man.”
My threes are still behind my fives.
