Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

The late Igor on retirement:
“Yep, I’m retired. I got nothing to do and all day to do it in, and when I get tired of doing it, I lie down and take a nap.”

That was my father, also. He felt retirement meant he never had to be anywhere by any time, unless he had planned a hunting trip.

Not bad. No cat that I recall.
I need to work on music and Cub Scouts day camp forms today.

Not bad, though. At least you didn’t get the big X/6!

A hunting trip was too much effort for Igor. Just getting out of bed was more than he wanted to do.

Another day, another loss. It was a toss-up between two words and I obviously chose the wrong one.

Oh, well.
Epic Fail is doing the lawn, and Pat has emerged. I haven’t seen Tom, but there’s a rumor that he’s alive.

James and his hair and Vlad say they’re done the yardwork. I won’t pay them until I’ve reviewed it.

I hope their work is equal to their pay.

I’m seeing an invasion of the hair snatchers.
Even Donald Sutherland had a lot of hair in “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” so it isn’t that much of a stretch.
