The software went into lockdown before the sale was agreed to, certainly as a precondition from Musk.

Musk is certainly no fool. He must have anticipated and planned for these situations. Especially when spending 44 billion dollars.

I saw something in a writeup saying the code had been ‘locked’ in anticipation of sabotage efforts. I’m sure the enterprising saboteurs (and they will be numerous), will still find ways to royally screw Twit up.

Nothing can be done...criminals gonna do criminal things and Mr. Musk can’t prevent that. The people that would do sabotage didn’t just wake up this morning and decide to do the crime, most likely they have larceny in their souls and this won’t be their first act of mischief.

White House Mystery: Missing W's

ABC News
January 6, 2006, 6:11 PM

Jan. 23, 2001 -- Aides to President Bush are working on a mystery: the case of the missing W's.

Many aides in the new administration assigned to the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, adjacent to the White House, discovered Monday that their computer keyboards were missing the "W" key — a critical problem given their boss' name is George W. Bush, and he is often referred to simply as "W," to distinguish him from his presidential dad.

Musk, like Trump plays hardball. He will have own people, and legal team in place when he walks in the door.

It has been reported that the git repositories have been “locked” and any changes to code require VP approval.
Database contents are a different matter...

All this speculation is the typical nonsense people have devolved into.

Software “lockdowns” and escrow are common with all merger and acquisitions.

Given the size of their IT shop I’m certain there is accountability via SOX compliance. This is a change control process with layered levels of approval before changes can be implemented. Those who circumvent said process are subject to immediate termination as it can place the stock at risk if reported as a SOX violation. Whatever they are doing, only an abysmal idiot would try to work around the system and even then, the controls in place could easily identify the attempt.

Twitter? Meh. Who cares. Never used it. Never will. It has no effect on my life at all.

I'm not denigrating those who use it but...I've always considered it a form of mental masturbation.

I don’t think we have to tell Elon Musk, what to get ready for.

Elon hass a clean, gold copy....I promise it is backed up all over...a scan will be done across all software for changes that have been made. Could it happen? Yes, but it will be detected quickly.

I’m sure the courts will frown upon “harm” done to a $44B deal.

I expect Musk’s team to prosecute everyone involved for such shenanigans.

Even if they don’t engage in outright sabotage most will simply drag their feed and engage in what will effectively be a work slow down. Musk acquired a viper’s nest.

Hope he has plans to deal with the subversive elements.

I read about one guy that knew he was getting let go at the end of his shift, so he spent his last shift nailing all the computer wires to the floor. They had to replace pretty much everything.

They may just resort to physical sabotage.

The people working at Twitter are probably the off spring of the departing staff from the Clinton Administration who removed the “W” from keyboards. They’ve come a long way.

These woke companies have left-wing employees with a percentage in the high 90s. I wonder how they accomplish this - probably with sly tricks during HR Interviews or just checking social media. Not ethical but then they wouldn’t be on the left if they were ethical.
