A 14-year-old boy has died after falling from a 430-foot-tall thrill ride at an amusement park in Orlando, CBS Miami reports.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office says they received 911 calls about an emergency at the "Orlando Free Fall" at ICON Park just after 11 p.m. on Thursday night after witnesses reported seeing a person fall from the ride to the ground.

That was hard to watch.
Sadly, same outcome. :( At least they had a body to bury.
The following lawsuit should be interesting...
Got flung right out. Wonder if he’d been drinking and lacked the ability to think about holding on tight? Relaxed muscle thing. It often saves drunk drivers in a crash but this was a little too extreme for relaxed muscle syndrome to save him. That is, if he had been drinking.
Never mind. I was thinking a 21 year old but that was the worker from 2020 who died.
that thing is pretty crazy looking.
The future is now..
I typed that last post before watching the whole video.
That was frigging horrible
He looked like a kinda big kid i don’t see how he slipped out except for mechanical failure.
RIP
Seems to me that if there is any question about whether the safety restraints are engaged or properly inspected or checked, then that employee should have hit the kill switch immediately and brought it back down.
Big settlement forthcoming for that boy's family.
If it can be built, it can be broken. That’s why I stay off those things.....
My personal injury attorney is Bob Loblaw.
Compared to the other restraints his was not fully down.
Maybe a ratchet system for different body sizes?
When the kid was moving around i didn’t see the restraint move up or down though.
This was sort of like watching a snuff film or something.
Watching somebody on tape who has no idea they will be dead in 60 seconds..
i need to stop watching stuff like that
It’s obvious the restraint isn’t locked into place on that poor guy. Total malfeasance on the part of the attendants and crew. When I have been on a couple of rides like this people come by to check at least two times because if things aren’t locked down it is pretty much certain catastrophe and death. They reaction from the crew is so nonchalant - that’s what’s shocking.
Ahhh, no. Morgan and Morgan for the people, doncha know
Poor kid. God have mercy.
Yeah I don’t watch these things.
It is not helpful. Were I on a jury I’d have to watch it. Or if it were my friend or family. Otherwise, no.
You pull 3.5 G’s when the brakes hit on that ride to slow the dropping tower. But that force is directing you down into the seat IF you are restrained. That means a 140 pound kid weighed around 500 pounds at that moment.
The second the ride started you can hear someone yell “seat belt left side” or something like that a couple of times yet nobody hit the emergency OFF button.
operators probably received 30 seconds of job training..
a lot of evidence in that video
Exactly right. He was a fat kid, and the restraint wasn’t down, and nobody checked it. Wow... that park is likely doomed financially.
That’s bad.
seems the operator was too busy trying to impress the chick when he was supposed to be walking around the ride checking restraints.
Yep. Had a co-worker that had once had a job constructing carnival rides. Said he would never ride one - he knew how they were put together.
