It’s obvious the restraint isn’t locked into place on that poor guy. Total malfeasance on the part of the attendants and crew. When I have been on a couple of rides like this people come by to check at least two times because if things aren’t locked down it is pretty much certain catastrophe and death. They reaction from the crew is so nonchalant - that’s what’s shocking.
The second the ride started you can hear someone yell “seat belt left side” or something like that a couple of times yet nobody hit the emergency OFF button.
operators probably received 30 seconds of job training..
a lot of evidence in that video
Exactly right. He was a fat kid, and the restraint wasn’t down, and nobody checked it. Wow... that park is likely doomed financially.
That’s bad.
seems the operator was too busy trying to impress the chick when he was supposed to be walking around the ride checking restraints.
There’s an amusement park in Vallejo CA with a thrill ride that eventually reconfigured the seat restraint to fit heavier people better. My skinny son had ridden the ride many times before they reconfigured it and felt secure, but after it was adjusted there was so much room that he was terrified his skinny body would slip out.
So he never rode it again.
I think it’s hard to get seat restraints for these types of rides that fit both very heavy and very skinny people well.
