Why Have Conservatives Been Unable To Stop The Liberal Revolution That Threatens Their Culture?

Posted on 03/19/2022 12:22:35 PM PDT by JAG 5000

Is a question asked by Patrick J. Buchanan in his classic work The Death Of The West. `

Says Buchanan: `

One reason is "The Liberals have captured the institutions where the young

spend most of their waking hours -- MTV and primetime, movies and

magazines, schools and colleges -- the Liberal Revolution is able to shape

the values, beliefs, and attitudes of the young. Artists, actors, playwrights,

song writers, and popular singers are almost all on the other side. `

(As for the Conservatives. . . ) `

Op-ed page commentators and radio hosts (eg Mark Levine) cannot match

this cultural firepower. The arsenals are unequal. Moreover, the entertainment

that the (Liberal) cultural revolution has to offer is far more attractive and

alluring, thus many of the children of traditionalists defect."

__Patrick J. Buchanan, The Death Of The West, pages 201-211

`

The Death Of The West is an oldie goldie but well worth

reading or re-reading. Its a magnificent conservative

work.

Thoughts?

“..Because America is ruled by one despicable tribe with two faces....”

It’s called the UniParty.
It consists of the GOPe arm and the DNC arm.
Sure. They wear different hats and spew different lies to their low-life “unwashed cattle”, but they ALL have the exact same goals and agenda, and it sure as hell ain’t to MAGA. It’s one big happy party...and we ain’t in it and other than our hard-earned tax dollars, we ain’t even welcome.

Conservatives had jobs, and families, and not enough time to fight. Then they became old, fat, lazy, stupid, and comfortable. And before they knew it, the tables had turned, the left became too powerful, they saw what happens to those that become targets of the left, and they became too cowardly to fight on top of all those things I mentioned earlier. And their leadership is all those things, too, but when you add corruption to that list, it is clear why the left is winning. And with the illegal invasion, it is why the left will ultimately win.

Tribes. The numerous 'conservative' tribes will never unite to defend the country against the 'enemy'.

Just as there was no unified force to defeat or hold back a the conquest of America/Americas.

The 'enemy' uses migration, .gov, corporatism, etc to slowly, or as of now, a speedy destruction of America.

'Conservatives' can't even unite on priorities going forward. Social and corporate issues will always paralyze various movements.

Further back than that. It started with the SDS, STUDENTS FOR S DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY. it was a very left leaning organization. Look it up.

"The answer is...they don't WANT to do anything. They are part of the problem."

So why do people continue to vote for them? I'll be lucky if I'm alive in 2024 to vote for President Trump, if he runs, and is on the ballot. Until then, I have changed my registration to "no party," and will not vote in any election. I'm sick of supporting a party that only knows me when they want something from me, then kicks me in the teeth once they get it. I got rid of a philandering husband 43 years ago. It's more than past time, to get rid of a philandering Republican Party.

Because of the republican party. It is only there to short circuit conservative and Christian political power.

Richard M. Weaver answered this question in his "Ideas Have Consequences."

In brief, beginning about 800 years ago, we gradually lost the belief in the existence of universals (Plato) and adopted the notion that things are whatever we call them (Occam). This is called "Nominalism."

It's the rare conservative who can recognize his own nominalism. We bought the basic idea that the individual experience of things determines reality (i.e. there is no objective world but only the subjective experience that we encounter in our own way) and so we're on this increasingly rapid decent down the slipper slope from objective reality to a person's "right" to recognition of their own subjectivity the objective facts be damned.

We're now at the end of that centuries-long process, where girls can be boys and boys can be girls just because they feel that they are such.

That's why.

Because we were too distracted by obsessions over tax cuts and “defense” that we left the culture to the left.

Younger folks are far more open and malleable and often not aware of their own mortality and consequences. Yes, the left notices this and makes a point to capture young minds.

Heck, even many young minds recognize this. In 6th grade the person who won class president at my school only made two promises, no more homework and soda machines in the lunchroom. (Neither promise could be kept btw)

The socialists/Marxists play on everyone’s dissatisfaction. If you promise people a utopia that will give them everything and demand nothing, that they are okay, perfect, in fact, but they are victims, their problems and dissatisfactions are someone else’s fault, people will like that. Often, the more privileged someone is, the more dissatisfied they might be - they have lived a hedonistic or materialistic life and they aren’t happy - clearly “the system” is to blame.

Especially, sinless sex. And a few add drugs/MJ in there too.

They all go hand in hand. The counterculture has seduced everyone successfully with sin, which is hedonism and anything goes, and they really can’t complain when other sins are part of the mix.

The counterculture has become the culture.
