Not sure how it would work in a seasonal climate but I’m going to check it out.

"You can survive for a long time on rice and beans....

You can, and people do. However, while you're out there buying 20 lb. sacks of rice and beans, don't forget to buy some cooking oil and salt. A few pounds of spices and dried vegetables would hurt either.

What’s all this about beer garden this and beer garden that?

Sounds interesting.

I think I’d like to start a beer garden. What do I have to do, just like, plant a bottle of Coors in the ground?

I have never figured out why my raddishes are so hot?

For bugs, check out Arbico Organics.

They sell beneficial insects.

Agree 100%

I have a green house and a few grow beds. Not enough to feed the family by itself but enough to soften the grocery bill.

And don’t forget to hoard toilet paper and pasta!

My frost date is May 10 but I'm getting geared up now to plant spring stuff that doesn't mind the cold - lettuce, peas, spinach, onions, etc.

Probably a good idea to go buy seeds right now, even for those warm weather crops.

You can grow a lot in those 5-gal buckets. Chicken wire should help with the birds and squirrels too.

No problem. Seemed like people should be aware of this.

Me too. I think Mel Bartholomew’s was one of the first garden related shows on PBS years ago. I think the guy who did this video has also been doing videos on YouTube for The Square Foot Gardening Foundation on their channel. Pretty sure I’ve seen that.

You’re right. A little effort can produce/procure a goodly amount of food.

Yes. It’s crazy. And I think I heard that Ukraine is the largest producer of the phosphate component of fertilizer, not to mention wheat. Things are not trending well right now are they.

That’s a bunch of rodents. I’m going to have to come up with something to keep them out of my garden.

I agree. Many towns even have community gardens for people without the space for a garden. I’m all for the front yard garden too rather than a lawn if someone wants to.

Coors should do the trick. I think the imports will have a later planting date though. :)
